Step 1. Lead-in Activity: Warm-up Discussion Show the photo of a typhoon hitting a coastal city and ask. Pre-listening Activity 1: Complete 2a (True/False Typhoon Facts) Ask students to read the 4 statements and mark T (true) or F (false) based on prior knowledge. Review answers and explain key facts: Pre-teach vocabulary: eye of the typhoon, flood, tsunami, coastal. Activity 2: Pre-listening Prediction Ask students to look at 2b's questions and predict. Step 3. While-listening Activity 1: Complete 2b (Listen for Main Details) Play the first recording (interviews + weather report). Activity 2: Complete 2c (Listen for Specific Details) Play the recording again. Ask students to fill in the blanks. The reporter advised people to be careful, pay attention to the wind speed, rainfall, and storm surges. Review answers and clarify the past continuous tense. Step 4. Post-listening Activity 1: Complete 2d (Role-play a Conversation) Model the role-play with a student. Ask students to work in pairs to create their own dialogues, using the 2c details and their own ideas. Activity 2: Extend the Discussion Ask: "What should people do before, during, and after a typhoon to stay safe " Step 5.
