过去进行时详解
过去进行时表示过去某一时刻或某一段时间内正在进行的动作,其结构为“was/were+现在分词”。
一、构成规则
1.当主语是第一人称单数(I)、第三人称单数(he/she/it)或单数名词时,用was+现在分词。
例:I was reading a book at 9 last night.昨晚9点我正在读书。
He was playing football when the rain started.下雨的时候他正在踢足球。
2.当主语是第二人称(you)、第一人称复数(we)、第三人称复数(they)或复数名词时,用 were+现在分词。
例:You were sleeping when I called you.我给你打电话时你正在睡觉。
We were having a party at this time yesterday.昨天这个时候我们正在举办派对。
二、时间标志词/时间状语
1.具体时刻:at 8:00 last night,at that moment 等。
例:She was washing clothes at 7 yesterday evening.昨天晚上7点她正在洗衣服。
2.时间段:from 7 to 9 last night,when/while引导的时间状语从句等。
例:While my mother was cooking,I was doing my homework.我妈妈做饭的时候,我正在做作业。
三、用法说明
1.描述过去某一时刻正在进行的动作
常与表示具体时间点的短语连用,强调动作在该时间点“正在进行”。
例:What were you doing at 10 o'clock yesterday?昨天10点你正在做什么?
2.描述过去某一时间段内持续进行的动作,强调动作在该时间段内“持续发生”。
例:They were building the house last month.上个月他们一直在建房子。
3.与when/while引导的从句连用
when既可以指时间点,也可以指时间段,从句中常用一般过去时,主句用过去进行时;或从句用过去进行时,主句用一般过去时。
例:When the bell rang,we were having class.铃响的时候,我们正在上课。
I was walking in the street when I met my old friend.我正在街上走的时候,遇到了我的老朋友。
while强调时间段,从句和主句通常都用过去进行时(表示两个动作同时进行)。

一、基本含义
“as soon as”意为“一……就……”,用来引导时间状语从句,强调两个动作或事件在时间上的紧密衔接,即前一个动作完成后,后一个动作立即发生。
二、时态搭配规则
1.主句用一般将来时,从句用一般现在时(主将从现)
若主句描述的是将来要发生的动作,从句需用一般现在时表将来。
例:I will call you as soon as I arrive in Beijing.我一到北京就给你打电话。
2.主句用一般过去时,从句用一般过去时
当描述过去发生的动作,且两个动作先后紧密发生时,主从句都用一般过去时。
例:As soon as she came home,she started to cook dinner.她一到家就开始做晚饭。
3.主句用过去完成时,从句用一般过去时
若从句的动作先发生,主句的动作后发生(且都在过去),从句用一般过去时,主句用过去完成时。
例:He had left as soon as the meeting was over.会议一结束他就离开了。
三、在句中的位置
“as soon as”引导的从句可位于主句之前或之后。位于句首时,从句后需加逗号;位于句末时,一般不用逗号。
例:你一完成工作就可以出去玩。
从句在前:As soon as you finish your work,you can go out to play.
从句在后:You can go out to play as soon as you finish your work.
