T:Good morning,class!After watching the pictures,let's warm up with a simple question:What is a volunteer?(ask students to discuss)
S 1:A volunteer is someone who spends time doing something to help others without being paid.
T:Why do they do it
S 2:Because it makes them feel good and helps the community.
T:You can volunteer in many ways.For example,you can help clean up a local park,visit old people in a nursing home,or help at an animal shelter.You don't need special skills,just a kind heart and willingness to help.Think about it:What small thing could you do to help someone today?Even a smile can be a kind of volunteer work!

I've been a volunteer there since last year.
since用法详解
1.含义:
“since”作介词时,意思是“自……以后;从……以来”。它用来表示某个动作或状态从过去的某一个时间点开始,一直持续到说话的时刻(或到过去某个时刻)。
2.结构:
since+一个过去的时间点
这个“时间点”可以是一个具体的年份、月份、日期,或者一个具体的事件。
·since 1961 自1961年以后
·since last Monday 自从上周一以后
·since the accident 自从事故发生以后
3.用法与动词时态:
当使用“since+过去时间点”时,句子的主句通常使用现在完成时(Present Perfect Tense),强调动作或状态从过去持续到现在。
基本结构:主语+have/has+过去分词+since+过去时间点.
例:He has lived here since 2010.他从2010年起就住在这里了。(现在仍然住在这里)
I have been very busy since last week.从上星期开始我就一直很忙。(现在依然很忙)
4.与其他词性的 “since” 区分:
“since”还可以作连词和副词,不要混淆。
1)作连词 (Conjunction):since+一个完整的句子,意思是“自从……”或“既然……”。
例:It has been years since I last saw him.自从我上次见他,已经过去好多年了。
Since you are busy,I will come tomorrow.既然你忙,我明天再来。
2)作副词(Adverb):通常放在句尾,意为“从那以后”。
例:He moved to Shanghai in 2020 and has worked there since.他2020年搬到上海,并在那里工作至今。
核心记忆:since+过去时间点,并且它通常与现在完成时(have/has done)连用。

be worth用法详解
1.“be worth”表示 “值得……”,用来描述某事物在价值、时间、精力等方面是“划算的”或“有意义的”。
例:This painting is worth a lot of money.这幅画值很多钱。
The book is definitely worth reading.这本书绝对值得一读。
2.核心句式结构
1)be worth+名词/代词(通常是表示价值、价格的名词)
这种结构直接说明某物“值……(多少钱)”或“值得……(某种代价)”。
例:The new iPhone is worth over $1,000.这部新iPhone值1000多美元。
Don't get angry with him.It isn't worth the effort.别跟他生气,不值得费那个劲。
2)be worth+动词 ing形式
这是最重要也是最容易出错的结构。虽然动词用了 ing 形式,但整个短语 (be worth doing) 表达的是被动含义,意思是“(某事)值得被做”。
例:The museum is worth visiting. 博物馆值得被参观。→正确
(The museum is worth being visited.)→错误(虽然意思对,但语法上绝不这样用)

特别注意:在这个结构中,句子的主语就是后面 ing 动词的逻辑宾语。

简单来说,记住两个黄金法则:
谈价值,后面接钱或代价。(be worth $100)
谈事情是否值得做,后面接动词 ing,且主动表被动。(be worth doing)
