For student Chen Honghan, the journey to school has changed from a treacherous 3-hour walk to a safe thirty-minute trip that feels like flying through the clouds, thanks to the “cloud school bus”.
Chen comes from Nizhuhe Village located at the border of Yunnan and Guizhou provinces. For years,Chen and her classmates walked on muddy routes to reach their school high on the top of the cliffs (悬崖).
However, this challenging journey has now changed into a wonderful tour. They first take a 6-minute scenic bus ride and then take a lift that climbs 268 metres.Next, they take a cable car ride that climbs over 200 metres. After a 1-kilometre walk, they arrive at the school in just under 30 minutes.
The change began with the introduction of the eco-cultural tourism in 2017.The project helped build a cliffside lift in 2018 and a cable car in 2022.They were made free for the villagers there.
The “cloud school bus” not only safely sends the village children to school but also attracts many tourists to the area.
In 2024,300,000 visitors came, bringing in the profit of nearly 20 million yuan. This has also improved villagers’ lives, with many starting businesses like farmstays, coffee shops and guest houses.Additionally, some villagers have returned to their hometowns to contribute to this growth.
Cai Xiong is one of them who led many amazing projects like the cliffside lift.“This tourism project is not only meant to help the villagers succeed, but also to serve as a ‘ladder to the clouds’ for the children.I hope they will climb this ladder, gain experience and grow, and finally return with the skills to make their hometown even better,” he said.

The way younger people think about spending money and their lifestyle is changing.A new idea called “reverse consumption” has appeared. This means people are no longer buying expensive things like brand-name bags or clothes.Instead, they care more about getting good value for their money.
Reverse consumption encourages people not to waste.Unlike traditional consumption habits,it refuses to keep buying new products and pays more attention to the quality of products. This idea has become popular with younger people and has influenced their buying decisions. This change in spending habits shows that young people care about different things in life now.
Many young people are starting to realize that having lots of material goods doesn’t bring true happiness. They are more interested in personal growth, spiritual wealth, and the building of social relationships.Because of this, they pay more attention to their inner needs.Besides focusing on growing as a person, they also start to care about how their actions affect the environment.
This new way of thinking helps young people notice bigger problems like pollution and climate change. They know that wasteful spending can harm the environment, causing plenty of unnecessary waste and pollution,so they are trying to reduce their influence on the environment. It is changing what people do and making the world different.
In addition, the idea of reverse consumption is also bringing changes in society.Companies are being pushed to take social and environmental responsibilities (责任) more seriously, and to think more about social interests when designing and making things.
Finally, reverse consumption also influences people’s understanding of the quality of life.Young people are caring more about inner happiness and finding more meaning in life through this new way of spending money.
( ) 53.According to the article, what is “reverse consumption” in Paragraph 1 mainly about

Changes in My Life
In the blink of an eye, I am in Junior Three. Looking back at the past years, my life has changed a lot.
I used to be a shy girl who was afraid of speaking in class. I had trouble making friends and often felt lonely. To change this, I started by joining the school English club. I feel happy and am proud of my progress. Change is like a key that opens a new door to a brighter life.
