Dear Diary,
Tim and I talked a lot about his problems today, and I'm so glad that I could help my best friend.
He looked really 11 when he came to me after school, his eyes red and his notebook in a mess.
He told me that his group project was due(到期的) next week, but he still had three important exams
to prepare for. He was worried that he couldn't finish 12 well and even thought about giving
up the project. I listened 13 without stopping him, touched his shoulder and told
him he wasn't alone. It also left me thinking about what it really 14 to be a“good friend”. In my
opinion, the following qualities form the basis of a friendship.
A good friend needs to be supportive. I can see that Tim is having trouble 15 his project
and his schoolwork, and both are important to him—— he spent weeks planning the project with
his group, and he also didn't want to get bad grades in the exams. I must respect and support the
16 he makes. I offered to help him review his notes for the exams every evening after school, and
we made a clear plan to divide his time between study and the project. I should also 17 him t
o take action to get over these difficulties.
A good friend needs to be selfless. Tim is someone whom I should try my best to help, even if i
t means more work for me. When he's struggling with his schoolwork, I should do all I can to help hi
m become a more efficient(效率高的) learner. I 18 my own study methods with him,helped
him sort out the key points of each subject, and even stayed late with him to finish a part of his 19 .
It' ll take up some of my spare time, but this friendship is worth my extra time and 20 . I'm sure th
at Tim would do the same for me if I were in trouble.
A good friend also needs to be understanding. When Tim feels stressed and talks about his wor
ries again and again, I never get annoyed(恼怒的). 21 , I listen to him quietly, try to understand his f
eelings and tell him it's okay to be worried. This makes him feel safe and valued. I 22 push him
to solve all problems at once, and I always stay with him when he needs someone to talk to.
To me, a good friend brings out the best in a person. And I think Tim is the one who brings out
the best in me. Through our conversation today,I know our friendship will grow 23 than
ever. I' ll always value these qualities of a good friend and try to measure myself by these standard
s as our friendship 24 .
I feel lucky to have Tim as my best friend, and I will value our 25 forever. May we alwa
ys stand by each other, through joys and storms in our lifetime.

A high school principal in Shenzhen, souther
n China'sGuangdong Province, has recently drawn wides
pread attention online after replying to a student's request
(请求) to remove a bird's nest from the school grounds.
It began when a senior student at Baoan High School
wrote a letter complaining that the noise of birds was disturbing(妨碍) his studies. In his
letter, the student asked the school to remove the nest to ensure a quieter environment.
Instead, Yuan Weixing, the principal of Baoan High School, showed a public reply.
While expressing understanding of the student's stress and worries, Yuan refused the requ
est.
“I understand you,” he wrote,“but I cannot agree to remove the bird's nest. Not becau
se I am short of sympathy(同情心), but because I hope you can understand the final purpo
se of education is not to make the world adapt(适应) to us, but to teach us how to live wit
h it.”
He added that the birds are part of the school environment and witnesses to the stude
nts' youth, encouraging them to live in harmony with nature.
The principal's response has received mixed ideas online. Many praised his opinion,
calling it“the true meaning of education” and praising the school's values. Others argued t
hat the great stress faced by senior students makes the request understandable.
Yuan provided a follow-up reply on Friday, saying that he had contacted the student
directly and provided him with earplugs to help reduce the noise. In his opinion, as an edu
cator, it's his duty to guide students toward thoughtful minds.
The student later replied on social media, expressing his idea for the principal's guida
nce and the public's feedback.“I now have a new understanding of life and nature,” he wr
ote.
In an interview, Yuan noted that sometimes today's education system focuses too hea
vily on scores, trying to keep all distractions(干扰) away and create a“sterile” environmen
t for students.
“One exam can't decide a lifetime,” he said.“Education is not about cleaning up the
world, but about helping children find their place in the real world.”
Yuan suggested that true education lies in helping students develop the ability to cop
e with imperfections and challenges in the real world, rather than protecting them from th
em.
29. Why did the student write the letter to the principal
A. Because he wanted to protect the birds at school.
B. Because he hoped to get earplugs from the principal.
C. Because he thought the birds’ noise influenced his studies.
D. Because he wanted to understand the true meaning of education.
30. Which sentence uses“sterile” with the same meaning as the underlined(划线的) word
sterile / stera l/ adj.①无菌的 ②缺乏新意的 ③无结果的 ④贫瘠的
A. It turned out to be a sterile discussion.
B. Sterile land cannot be used to grow crops.
C. The doctor wore sterile gloves during the operation.
D. The classrooms are sterile, with no artwork on the walls.
31. What does the underlined sentence in the passage mean
A. Education should make the real world adapt to students.
B. Education should help students get along with the real world.

D. Students’ success depends on how well schools meet their needs.
32. Which of the following is the best title for this passage
A. A bird's nest with a lesson B. A principal's wise reply

Can you imagine a paralyzed(瘫痪的) patient controlling a power wheelchair w
ith only his thoughts And can you imagine him directing a robotic dog to pick up a
food delivery This is not a sci-fi movie scene. It is a huge step forward from Chines
e scientists’ recent clinical trials of invasive brain-computer interface(BCI)(侵入式
脑机接口).
The patient became paralyzed after a fall in 2022. In June 2025, he got a BCI s
ystem. This system was made by the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Int
elligence Technology under the CAS. After a few weeks of training, he could contro
l a computer cursor(光标) and a tablet(手写板) without difficulty.
To help the patient interact (互动 ) with the world better, the researchers
added new technologies. They successfully made the BCI system work not only o
n a 2-D screen but also in the real 3-D world. For example, the patient could use his
thoughts to control a wheelchair and a robotic dog instead of just moving a cursor o
n a computer screen. This was a new step in getting better. It helped the brain's order
s go from a 2-D screen to real, full-bodied 3-D interaction with the world.
An invasive BCI system has two parts: a front-end sensor and a back-end proces
sor. The front-end sensor is a very thin thread. It is only 1/100 as thick as a human hai
r.5 to 8 millimeters of it is put into the brain. The back-end processor is as big as a coi
n. It is placed in a small hollow on the skull(颅骨). Experts say the front-end sensor is
like a network cable, connecting the brain to the outside world to send and receive
information. The back-end processor turns the brain's weak signals into computer inst
ructions. In this way, paralyzed patients can use their thoughts to control external devi
ces and live a better daily life.
Brain-computer interface is China's completely self-developed technology. It has
broken the world record in its field. It shows that China has become more powerful i
n high technology. We believe China will continue to lead the world in technology de
velopment.
33. Why does the writer mention the scene at the beginning of the passage
A. To show the purpose of BCI. B. To lead into the topic o
f BCI.
C. To explain the patient's thoughts. D. To describe a sci-fi mo
vie scene.
34. Which of the following activities is 3-D interaction with the world
A. Click the icon on the smartphone. B. Type English words on a tablet.
C. Move a cursor on a computer screen. D. Pour water from the cup and drink.
35. What does Paragraph 4 mainly talk about
A. How the invasive brain-computer interface works.
B. How the invasive brain-computer interface improves.
C. How the invasive brain-computer interface is tested.
D. How the invasive brain-computer interface is created.
36. Which of the following best shows the structure(结构) of the passage (①=Paragr

D
①Have you heard of“the giant panda of the water” The Yangtze River is its home. It is
a very good swimmer. Flipping, nodding and jumping are easy for it in the water. It is the Y
angtze finless porpoise (江豚), which lives only in the Yangtze River.
②The Yangtze River is the cradle of Chinese civilization(中华文明的摇篮). It starts fr
om the Tangula Mountains on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and is over 6,300 kilometers long. It
flows through eleven provincial-level regions and finally runs into the East China Sea. It is
China's longest river and the third longest river in the world.
③The Yangtze River is also called“China’ s mother river”. It is very important to th
e environment. With ecosystems like forests and wetlands, the river is home to many plants a
nd animals, such as giant pandas, Yangtze finless porpoises and ginkgo trees. Wetlands help
protect water resources and improve water quality.
④However, in recent years, the plants and animals in the Yangtze River have faced pro
blems because of environmental pollution. To solve this, the government made a plan in 201
6 to protect the great river. Ten years later, many good changes have taken place.
⑤Thousands of factories have been closed, improved or moved away to stop polluted w
ater from running into the river. At the same time, new green businesses have appeared. For e
xample,in a park, a company makes paper products in a way that is 100 percent biodegradabl
e (可分解的).Technology also helps a lot. Since 2021, Chongqing has built an AI system to
watch fishing and pollution. So far, it has connected over 1,200 cameras and dozens of drones
to find illegal (非法的) fishing and pollution risks.
⑥Flood control and prevention are also important for people living along the river. No
w scientists use a digital twin of the Yangtze to help with floods. The digital twin uses big da
ta, AI and the Internet of things to collect information and send it to a control center. A 3D m
odel on the computer shows the real conditions of the river. With this system, flood warnin
gs can be sent earlier, so people can move to safe places in time.
⑦ ▲ The main part of the Yangtze River has kept Class II water quality, which is
the second best level, for six straight years. Now, we all need to start with ourselves—— not
littering, not pouring untreated water. If everyone did this, it would make a big difference.
37. According to the following map, what is the general flow direction of the Yangtze River
A. From east to west.
B. From west to east.
C. From north to south.
D. From south to north.
38. How does the writer introduce the Yangtz
e River in Paragraph 2
A. By listing numbers.
B. By telling a story.
C. By comparing opinions. D. By asking questions.
39. What do Paragraph 5 and Paragraph 6 mainly talk about
A. 3D models of Yangtze River.
B. The location of the Yangtze River.
C. The importance of the Yangtze River.
D. Ways of protecting the Yangtze River.
40. Which sentence should be put at the beginning of Paragraph 7
A. Protection does not stop.
B. All the efforts have paid off.
C. The situation remains serious.
D. The river is facing new challenges.

处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。
Eye contact(接触) means looking into another person'
s eyes. 41 You may avoid looking someone in the ey
e when talking with them because you are shy. But in man
y cases, eye contact is the key to good communication. Yo
u can show friendliness, interest and understanding through
eye contact.
42 For example, in northern Europe, direct eye contact is a sign that you ar
e truly interested in what the other person is saying. If you look down and avoid eye cont
act, a northern European may think you are not listening to what they are saying. 43 Lo
oking down when talking with an older person, like a teacher or a parent, is polite.
These differences can cause problems. Suppose that an East Asian woman meets a
person from northern Europe for the first time. If she avoids direct eye contact during the
conversation, the northern European may think her behaviour is strange. 44 In fact,
the East Asian woman is most likely showing respect and being polite.
Avoiding eye contact can cause problems, but too much eye contact is not polite eit
her. In many countries, looking at other people for a long time is impolite. 45
A. It depends on how big your eyes are.
B. This may make them feel uncomfortable.
C. It is a very important part of body language.
D. Eye contact can mean different things in different places.
E. However, in many Asian countries, it has the opposite meaning.
F. He or she may even believe that the woman is lying, or that she is not confident.

六、阅读与回答问题(本题共 5小题;每小题 2分,满分 10分)
请认真阅读下面短文,并根据短文内容回答问题。
On March 20, 2026, China saw a rare mix o
f sky events and cultural traditions. The traditional
Dragon Head Raising Festival happened on the s
ame day as the Spring Equinox(春分)——a speci
al meeting that takes place about once every 19 ye
ars. The next one will happen in 2045.
Celebrated on the second day of the second lunar month, the Dragon Head Raising
Festival gets its meaning from ancient ideas about nature and new beginnings. In Chines
e stories, the dragon wakes up with spring thunder, bringing life back to the land. For ma
ny people, the day marks a fresh start and carries the promise of a good harvest.
Well-loved traditions continue across the country. Many choose to get a haircut, a pr
actice meant to leave behind bad luck and welcome new chances. Special“dragon-theme
d” foods are also widely enjoyed: spring pancakes for dragon scales, noodles for dragon
whiskers(龙须面),and wontons(馄饨) for dragon eyes. These dishes carry sincere wishes
for health and good luck. Some families use herbs(草药) to drive away insects, expressi
ng hopes for health and successful farming.
The Spring Equinox, one of China’ s 24 Solar Terms, arrives as the sun crosses the
equator(赤道), making day and night almost equal in length around the world. As temper
atures rise, swallows return, and thunder becomes more common. With good weather, en
ough rain and bright sunshine, crops grow quickly, making the equinox very important f
or farming.
The coming together of these two events carries double meaning. The festival stands
for rain, energy and the start of spring farming. The equinox represents balance, harmon
y(和谐) and natural growth. Together, they show the deep connection between Chinese c
ulture and nature, and express people's common hope for good weather and fruitful years.
