Fan Jinshi is a famous person in China. She is known as “the daughter of Dunhuang”. She devoted her whole life to protecting Dunhuang murals.
Fan Jinshi was born in 1938. She graduated from Peking University in 1963. After graduation, she went to Dunhuang. At that time, Dunhuang was a poor and faraway place. The murals were damaged by wind, sand and time. Fan Jinshi was very worried. She decided to stay in Dunhuang and protect the murals.
