I have traveled to many places-the jungles where the water is unsafe; places with the wildest animals. Friends always ask why I,a middle-aged woman with no athletic talent,go to such places. I never know how to answer - Just I want to put my toes in the mud of adventure.
I stopped traveling nine years ago after I suffered a stroke (中风)caused by a disease, APS. To prevent another stroke, my doctors told me that traveling to remote places without medical help would be risky. A slip on a damp temple step, even a slight traffic accident, would no longer be mere annoyances.
My return to travel after my stroke came in baby steps —a feast in Texas; a visit to my mom in Virginia, They all came back, the freedom, the excitement and the fresh air.
The first real test of my travel courage came nine months after my stroke when I joined my husband in visiting China. After we had toured a temple, Jack wanted to ride down on a toboggan (平底雪橇).Before the stroke it would have seemed like fun for me. But now I stepped back. I feared. My mind screamed warnings of a fall or a crash. Then gathering confidence from nowhere,I lowered myself and took the flying toboggan ride, which marked my adventure travel's coming back. Since then, I’ve dared to take challenges and have challenged many places.
But I watch my medicine like an eagle. I get my blood tested. I weigh the risks. Then, if I decide it’s okay, like that toboggan ride down the mountain, I just jump in, let go and enjoy the ride. I think I travel for hoping to broaden my world and keep me connected with friends and families. Most of all, saying "yes” to travel is related to my APS. If I let myself be afraid to travel, then my APS will win.

Every child should have a good science education whether they want to be the next Albert Einstein or Michael Jordan. Science is all around us. It is everywhere, reaching everything that we do. The “we” in that last statement includes children. Children who understand how science plays a role in our everyday lives have a wonderful foundation (基础) for success in life.
Children can learn science at any age really. The earlier they start, the better. The best way for kids to learn is through play and repetition. There are wonderful science toys for preschool science activities. With play being the best way for kids to learn, it makes sense then to introduce them to toys that encourage understanding science. Children love to use their imagination to have fun and to help them understand the world around them. So play is a wonderful time to introduce science to them. Think of the games that we used to play: Don’t Spill the Beans, Don’t Break the Ice, The Telephone Game and Lincoln Logs. Each of them has science behind it.
Children are curious as they feel the world, trying to make sense of what is around them. Science feeds their curiosity. It is a hunger that needs to be encouraged and satisfied. The best way for children to learn science is to let them play science toys. Finding these toys is not as hard as one would think. To make sure that you get good quality toys, visit science toy shops online where you can find unique science toys, such as 3D space projectors, or Hydro Greenhouses.
Help your children appreciate the world around them by understanding the world around them. This way, they understand how we are all connected together. Children will not only question the world, but also be able to come up with answers to those questions on their own. Science is life.

A slow-paced Citywalk is becoming popular across China. Different from rushing past overcrowded tourist landmarks, the new trend has appeared as a popular choice to explore cities at a leisurely (悠闲的) pace.
Citywalk particularly attracts the younger generation who are often caught up in busy work schedules. As proved by the increasing popularity of hash tags (话题标签) like “City walk for vacation” on lifestyle sharing platform Xiaohongshu, with a staggering 465 million views and nearly 464,600 engagements, the trend is truly capturing unbelievable attention.
Citywalk can be a special guided trip for a small group of people, or simply a leisurely walk for one or two to explore new areas, sticking to the key point: avoiding famous scenic spots and big crowds to gain a more inclusive experience of the places you visit. It offers people a way to closely experience city culture and local traditions.
Citywalk routes are specially planned to the specific interests of both tourists and locals. For tourists, the focus is on sharing local customs and traditions, while for locals, discussions center around the city’s past, present, and future. The growing trend of Citywalk reflects a changing attitude towards life, embracing a warmer, more relaxed, and slower-paced lifestyle.
As Citywalk extends beyond first-tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, to second-and third-tier cities, it brings fresh opportunities for the tourism industry, in such areas as dining, shopping, and accommodation. Governments in Beijing and Shandong have recognized the potential (潜力) of Citywalk, including it into their action plans to promote cultural tourism and leisure activities. In Shanghai, public bus lines specially designed have been introduced for Citywalk participants.
“By slowing down and exploring the city streets, observing people’s lives, and immersing oneself in the context of museums and art galleries, one has the chance to embrace the pleasure of life,” said Luo Jun, a cultural tourism lover.

Han Gan: A Master of Chinese Horse Painting
Han Gan, a famous painter in the early Tang Dynasty, is a very important person in the history of Chinese horse painting. Born into a poor family, he once worked in a local wine shop to support his family. His artistic ability was accidentally found by the poet Wang Wei, who then helped him study painting.
Later, he was sent to work for the emperor. Han Gan spent days and nights in the emperor’s stables, watching horses carefully. He clearly remembered every move of the horses. By watching them so closely, he could draw not just their looks, but also their energy and spirit. His famous work Night-Shining White, now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, still shows great life and power after more than 1,000 years.
Han Gan is seen as one of the greatest horse painters in Chinese art. His story tells us that with careful observation and hard work, one can achieve extraordinary success in any field.
