During the hot and dry summer last year, my family experienced the first natural disaster of our lives. We were hiking in the mountains when lightning flashed across the sky. The sky got darker and darker. And then we realized that we weren't looking at clouds. It was smoke! There was a wildfire!"Look!" my brother shouted. "I can see the fire over there!" I had my phone out right away, ready to call for help. My dad told us to stay calm and move to the open area quickly, while my mom was holding my brother's hand tightly, trying not to panic. We were running as fast as we could, while the wind was getting stronger and stronger. Luckily, a rescue team was working nearby and they noticed us right away. They led us to a safe place and gave us water and food to calm down. When we finally got to the foot of the mountain, we could see the fire was still spreading. We felt so lucky that we were all safe and sound after this terrible experience.

Last winter, my family had a scary experience. One evening, we were enjoying a quiet night at home. My parents were watching TV, my brother was doing his homework, and I was looking out of my bedroom window. It was snowing heavily, and the world outside was getting whiter and whiter."Look out!" I shouted to my family. "The snow is coming so fast!" My dad stood up and walked to the window. He looked serious. He said we needed to check the doors and windows to keep the cold out. My mom was making hot soup for us, and my brother was helping move the furniture away from the door. We were all busy when we heard a loud noise from the roof. A big tree branch fell on our power line, and the lights went out suddenly. Luckily, we had a flashlight and some candles at home, so we could see clearly. We spent the whole night by the fireplace, telling stories to keep warm. The next morning, the snow stopped, and our neighbors came to help us clear the snow. We learned that it's important to stay calm and get ready for natural disasters.
