(2026·浙江省金华十校·二模)I have a son with whom I do “special time”. My wife and I homeschool our eleven-year-old son, and I spend lots of time playing and doing things with him. I used to think of this as special time. Recently, however, I have noticed that during many of those hours I have only part of my attention on him and am often distracted by things that need doing. This past year I talked with him about setting aside a time when I would just follow his lead in play, when he would get to decide what happened and how it happened. He liked the idea, so we arranged to do it once a week for an hour, after his guitar lesson.
During the first few special times he wouldn’t be able to think of what he wanted to do with me or how he wanted to use my full attention. I would get antsy and would have to stop myself from making suggestions. He would often say, “Well, what would you like to do ” or “Let’s go do this; you’ll like this.” I started to notice what a struggle it was for him to just want something for himself. He was always considering me first.
Often biting my tongue and sometimes failing, I tried to wait until he could figure out something that he really wanted to do. During some of the first special times he decided to go shopping and just look at the things he wanted. Recently he has chosen to use my attention to perfect skills — we go out and throw a baseball for an hour. Often I have to stop myself from teaching or from asking him to keep trying when he is ready to move on quickly to something else.
As the year continues, I watch my son become more confident and experiment more with how he can use me, now that he knows he has me for a fixed time. If my attention wanders, he’ll remind me that it is his special time.
1.What does the author think is a key feature of “special time”
A.Adequate time. B.Constant guidance. C.Undivided attention. D.Practical arrangement.
2.What does the underlined word “antsy” in paragraph 2 mean
A.Impatient. B.Ashamed. C.Thrilled. D.Confused.
3.What did the author’s son tend to do during the first few special times
A.Carry out enjoyable activities. B.Follow the author’s suggestions.
C.Figure out what he wanted to do. D.Consider the author’s preferences.
4.What can be a suitable title for the text
A.Learning to Be a Wise Father B.The Magic of Companionship
C.More Than Just Being Together D.The Moment My Boy Found His Voice

(2026·广东湛江市·二模)I’m Kim. Despite all its weaknesses, Java has served me well. But I’ve never had strong feelings about Java itself. I liked some things about it, and I hated others. For many years my perspective was simple: I didn’t have to love Java, or whatever programming language, to finish my tasks well. That all changed a few months ago when I wrote my first Kotlin class.
It was a pop-up adapter in just 86 lines, 17 of which were package and import statements, and I couldn’t get over how brief and readable it was. I could barely comprehend how little I wrote to get something to work. It took me a few passes, but all of a sudden, I sensed the difference. This wasn’t just about language features or what the FAQ (frequently asked questions) said the language was capable of. This was about how I felt.
It was genuinely fun. I’d read code over and over and couldn’t believe how much I was accomplishing in so few lines. I couldn’t believe the clarity of the writing. Over the next few days, I wrote more and more Kotlin. I wrote my first extension. Then I rewrote an existing helper class and I wanted to write more. With just a few hours of effort, I cut 94 lines without breaking a sweat. I was amazed, excited, and having a ton of fun. I was also slightly amazed at this fresh experience brought on by a programming language.
Over the next couple of weeks, that pleasant feeling just grew and grew. Whenever I’d have to work with Java, it was painful. I’d find myself rushing through it and making stupid mistakes because I had more important Kotlin files to attend to. But when I opened the Kotlin files, I felt at home, relaxed. The code was beautiful and expressive. It was brief but powerful. I kept finding new ways to write more clearly, more directly. And I was happy.
5.What did Kim initially think of Java
A.It was rather boring. B.It was very complex.
C.It was a bit unstable. D.It was just workable.
6.What struck Kim most about Kotlin
A.Its loose structure. B.Its high efficiency.
C.Its official introduction. D.Its numerous functions.
7.Why did Kim rewrite the helper class
A.To satisfy his interest. B.To check and correct it.
C.To test new coding skills. D.To fix its technical errors.
8.How did Kotlin impact Kim
A.It broadened his career vision. B.It improved his logical thinking.
C.It transformed his coding style. D.It helped express his true character.

High school students are on the point of entering a very different job market from previous generations. Tech and economic experts mostly agree that AI will change many jobs and may make some disappear completely. And basic jobs are likely to be influenced early in this change. Although employment is still rather high among all groups, it has dropped a little for 20-to 24-year-olds recently.
Dario Amodei, CEO of a tech company, believes that AI could take away as many as half of all simple white-collar (白领的) jobs within the next few years, though other people in the tech industry expect smaller changes. Finding a job in computer science — a field that until recently was seen as a great way to get a well-paid and steady job — has already become much more competitive, as AI does more of that work, thus narrowing down the job chances.
Meanwhile, high schools are trying their best to decide how to teach students about AI and whether students should be allowed to use it in their studies. Many students are using it whether they are allowed to or not. A 2024 Pew Research Center study shows that half of US teens said they had used ChatGPT to do their homework. All this is changing how some young people plan for college and their jobs. Some are choosing to work in practical fields like healthcare that seem more reliable, while others are learning how to use AI in their future jobs.
If you ask people working in tech, they will probably tell you that learning to use AI is the best way for high school students to prepare for a successful and long-term job. “AI may not take your job, but someone who has AI skills will take it instead,” said Colette Stallbaumer, general manager of Microsoft 365 Copilot. With this opinion, she asks students to think carefully: “Are you using AI to try new ideas To make an app Are you even using it as a study tool ”
9.What are high school students facing
A.A sudden economic depression. B.A distinct employment situation.
C.A new job market full of chances. D.A dramatic change in labor work.
10.Why are jobs in computer science more competitive
A.They decrease in number. B.They demand higher skills.
C.They attract fewer learners. D.They become less well-paid.
11.What can be inferred about US teens
A.They tend to choose AI in practical domains. B.They are allowed to adopt AI in their exams.
C.Their plans for their future are free of AI use. D.Their reliance on AI can shape their options.
12.What is Colette Stallbaumer’s attitude to students’ AI use
A.Critical. B.Objective. C.Supportive. D.Disapproving.

(2026·广东省大湾区·二模)When I landed in a small town in New Zealand as an exchange student, I thought I was ready for everything — new faces, language barriers, strange social patterns and even homesickness. Still, the smallest things made me feel out of place.
Luckily, the Wilsons, my host family, did everything they could to help me settle in — driving me around, sharing meals, and even letting me use their kitchen when. I. missed Chinese food. With their warmth and support, everything seemed to fall into place.
But at school, small moments felt bigger than I’d imagined. In our first literature class, we discussed a Hemingway story. Everyone jumped in actively, while I struggled to speak up. My desk-mate encouraged me, “Next time, just speak up.” I nodded, forcing a bitter smile.
And just like that, I found myself in another cultural trap, Mrs. Wilson’s birthday dinner. At the table, I answered politely but kept mostly to myself. Mrs. Wilson noticed my silence and gently asked, “You alright, sweet girl You’ re so quiet tonight.” My face reddened. Was my silence seen as cold, rather than polite
That night, restless and wide awake, I wondered if I needed to laugh louder, speak faster; or hide parts of myself just to feel I belonged. Questions flooded my mind, none with answers.
A few days later, our teacher announced there would be a Culture Festival next week. “You’ ll prepare a stand to share your own culture — food, crafts, customs ... anything meaningful. You can not only display your culture but also make it interactive, allowing people to try new things, learn traditional skills. or share stories and cultural symbols,” she said. The class lit up with excitement. I sat frozen, mind racing: how could I share my traditions in English The thought made my stomach twisted (扭曲). Yet, I gathered myself with a deep breath and signed up. After that, I threw myself wholeheartedly into preparations, until the day finally came.
注意:
(1)续写词数应为150个左右;

【答案】1.C 2.A 3.D 4.C
根据第一段“My wife and I homeschool our eleven-year-old son, and I spend lots of time playing and doing things with him. I used to think of this as special time.(我和妻子一起在家教育我们 11 岁的儿子,我会花很多时间陪他玩耍,和他一起做各种事情。我过去一直把这种时光视为特别的相处时刻。)”可知,作者认为“专属时光”的关键特点是不被分散的关注。故选C。
2.词句猜测题。根据第二段“During the first few special times he wouldn’t be able to think of what he wanted to do with me or how he wanted to use my full attention.(在最开始的几次专属时光里,他要么想不出和我一起做什么,要么不知道如何充分利用我全心全意的陪伴。)” 故选A。
根据第二段“He would often say, “Well, what would you like to do ” or “Let’s go do this; you’ll like this.” I started to notice what a struggle it was for him to just want something for himself. He was always considering me first.(他经常会说:“嗯,你想做什么呀?”或者“咱们去做这个吧,你会喜欢的。”我开始留意到,对他来说,单纯为自己想要什么而争取是多么困难。他总是先考虑我。)”可知,在最初的几次专属时光里,作者的儿子倾向于考虑作者的喜好。故选D。
4.主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是倒数第二段“Often biting my tongue and sometimes failing, I tried to wait until he could figure out something that he really wanted to do. During some of the first special times he decided to go shopping and just look at the things he wanted. Recently he has chosen to use my attention to perfect skills — we go out and throw a baseball for an hour. Often I have to stop myself from teaching or from asking him to keep trying when he is ready to move on quickly to something else.(我常常忍住不说,有时也会忍不住,努力等到他自己想明白到底想做些什么。在最初几次特别的相处时光里,他决定去逛街,只是看看自己想要的东西。最近,他选择借着我的陪伴来打磨技能 —— 我们会出门打了一个小时棒球。当他很快想转向别的事情时,我往往得克制自己不去教他,也不去要求他继续坚持。)”和最后一段“As the year continues, I watch my son become more confident and experiment more with how he can use me, now that he knows he has me for a fixed time. If my attention wanders, he’ll remind me that it is his special time.(随着这一年时光的流逝,我看到儿子变得越来越自信,也更勇于尝试利用我(的陪伴),因为他知道在固定的这段时间里,我是属于他的。如果我的注意力不集中了,他会提醒我,这是他的专属时光。)”可知,本文通过“专属时光”的实践,作者反思了亲子陪伴的本质——真正的陪伴不是物理上的共处,而是全神贯注的关注与尊重孩子的自主性,因此最恰当的标题是C选项“More Than Just Being Together(不仅仅是相伴在一起)”。故选C。

At the Culture Festival, I stood behind my stand, nervous but ready. Taking a deep breath, I once again neatly arranged all the well-prepared items: red paper and scissors. Soon, students and teachers gathered, curiosity in their eyes. I welcomed them with a smile and demonstrated: fold, cut, unfold — and a butterfly spread its wings. A wave of surprise rippled through the crowd. Encouraged, I invited a boy to try; his star turned out uneven, yet drew laughter and applause. More joined eagerly, and I moved among them, guiding their hands, praising their efforts and celebrating each creation. When a teacher proudly held up her paper flower, the cheers grew louder. Red pieces fell to the floor, and my confidence, once hidden, shone through every new pattern.
From that day on, my world here started to change. In the hallway, students waved butterflies from my stand and greeted me with bright “Ni hao!” My heart lifted as I waved back. In literature class, I gave voice to my ideas with newfound confidence. My English was not flawless, yet my voice was steady, and instead of silence I saw nods and smiles. After class, a girl asked softly, “Can you show us more about your culture ” Her words lingered in my heart, echoing like a gentle reminder. In that echo, I realized I had not only broken free from cultural shock but also found my place in a shared story — one written by many voices, yet open enough to hold my own.
①赞美:praise/speak highly of
