For my favourite English book, I've chosen Shakespeare's play Hamlet. Shakespeare wrote the play around 1600. The story is about a prince named Hamlet from Denmark. After the sudden death of his father, Hamlet's uncle Claudius became the new king and married Hamlet's mother Gertrude. This made Hamlet extremely upset. One night, Hamlet met the ghost of his father, who told him that Claudius had murdered him. Hamlet decided to seek revenge. He pretended to be crazy to spy on Claudius and tried to prove his guilt. Although he eventually killed Claudius, Hamlet also died in the end. It is a famous tragedy about thought, action, and human emotion.
