第一节(共4小题;每小题2.5分,满分10分)
A recent research revealed that one of the most popular AI chatbots many people rely on has been sharing inaccurate coding and computer programming advice. This highlights a major issue facing AI today: these evolving algorithms (算法) can “hallucinate,” a term describing situations where AI models generate statements that sound reasonable but have been entirely made up. Generative AI applications like large language models serve, functionally, as prediction programs. When users ask questions, the AI scans its knowledge base for relevant information and predicts word sequences it considers appropriate as responses. These predictions build upon one another again and again.
But Rayid Ghani, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University’s Machine Learning Department and Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, explains that this process puts greater emphasis on probability than truth. “Most generative AI models have been trained on vast Internet data pools, but no one has checked the accuracy of those data, nor can the AI distinguish trustworthy sources,” he notes. This led to Google’s stupid AI suggestion about using glue on pizza to prevent cheese from sliding off — a proposal relied on a years-old Reddit joke.
Ghani observes that while humans easily understand human errors since we recognize that people aren’t perfect things. But we hold machines to higher criteria, which makes AI errors harder to forgive. However, he emphasizes that AIs are human-made systems. By examining both AI processes and the misleading datasets they train on, we might not only improve AI but also reflect on our social and cultural biases embedded (被嵌入) in training data.
“We need guardrails (护栏) like quotes-checking tools for chatbots. So third-party checking tools will likely emerge,” Ghani predicts. “But remember: Humans also make mistakes. Just because the book in the library doesn’t guarantee its accuracy.”
1. How do generative AI models respond to user’s questions
A. By accessing checked databases. B. Through repeated word predictions.
C. Using pre-written answer models. D. By consulting human experts.
2. What message does the “glue on pizza” example convey
A. AI may fail to identify unreliable sources.
B. AI will prioritize outdated information.
C. AI should improve cooking techniques.
D. AI can intentionally create humorous content.
3. Why do people find AI mistakes harder to accept than human errors
A. AI lacks emotional intelligence. B. Machines are expected to be perfect.
C. AI errors cause greater harm. D. Human errors are less frequent.
4. What is mainly discussed in the passage
A. The competition between AI chatbots.
B. Challenges and solutions for AI inaccuracy.
C. The history of machine learning development.
D. Differences between AI and human intelligence.

Regret is a very real reaction to a disappointing event in your life, a choice you made that can’t be changed, something you said that you can’t take back. ____5____ Regret can increase our stress, negatively affect physical health and disturb the balance of our immune systems.
____6____ One is what researchers refer to as the action path and the other is the inaction path. That is, we can regret the things we did or we can regret the things we did not do. Research suggests that action-related regret, although painful, encourages people to learn from their mistakes and move on. ____7____ This kind of regret is more likely to lead to depression and anxiety.
As with other negative emotions, it doesn’t work to avoid, deny or try to destroy regret. ____8____ Rather than stay put, people can manage these emotions in four steps: First, accept the fact that you are feeling them; determine why you are feeling them; allow yourself to learn from them: and, finally, release them and move forward.
You can help release these feelings of regret by practicing self-compassion (自我同情).This means reminding yourself that you are human, you are doing the best you can and you can learn from past decisions and grow. ____9____
Noticing, acknowledging and then forgiving your thoughts are a powerful step towards overcoming regret.
A. Dealing with regret is even more difficult.
B. Regret is not only unpleasant, but also unhealthy.
C. There are basically two ways to experience regret.
D. But regret related to the inaction path is harder to fix.

【答案】Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a customer who bought a schoolbag from your online store a few days ago. I’m writing to express my dissatisfaction about the terrible online shopping experience.
The reasons for my disappointment are as follows. In the first place, the color of the schoolbag is seriously inconsistent with the online pictures. In addition, what shocks me is that there is even a hole in the surface of the schoolbag, which reflects the poor quality of it.
To remedy these problems, I urge that my good (should) be refunded or exchanged, which should be completed within one week. I would be grateful if you could settle my complaint as soon as possible.
Yours,
Li Hua
