Going green makes a big difference in our life. I’m Jessica Wong. Today I’ll tell you what my family does every day to save the Earth. It’s reported that a common family produces (产生) more than one ton of rubbish a year. Some of this waste takes hundreds of years to decay. Also, it costs much money to buy new things to take the place of the things we throw away.
In order to protect the environment (环境) and save money, my family has recycled (回收) everything. On the one hand, we collect used things every day, such as paper, bottles and boxes, and put them into different bins. Then they are sent to a recycling center. Finally, they are treated and can be used again. Recycling will help reduce(减少) a lot of waste. On the other hand, we use old clothes to make different kinds of bags. I like to use old jeans to make bags. These cute and useful bags are popular with young people. As a result, I open a small shop and sell them online.
What’s more, my parents and my brother often go to work by bike. If it rains, they’ll take the bus. We’re also going to grow our own vegetables, raise cows, keep hens and ducks. Soon, we’ll be able to have eggs and milk for meals.

Water is the most important resource for all living things on Earth. It is rightly called the “elixir (灵丹妙药) of life”, as no life can live without it. Although nearly 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered with water, only a small part is fresh and fit for drinking. This makes it essential to save water and use it wisely.
Water is needed for many activities in our daily life, such as drinking, cooking, cleaning and farming. Plants, animals and humans all depend on water to live. Farmers need water for growing crops, and industries need water for producing goods. What’s more, water is necessary for keeping us clean and staying healthy. Without water, it is impossible to keep hygiene (卫生) or prevent diseases (预防疾病).
Sadly, water shortage is a growing problem in many parts of the world. Overuse, pollution, and climate change have made clean water harder to find. Many people still don’t have enough safe drinking water, which affects(影响) their health and quality of life. To protect this valuable resource, we must avoid wasting water and keep our rivers and lakes clean.

In the film Forrest Gump (《阿甘正传》), there’s a famous saying, “Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re gonna get.” The surprise is part of the fun. Now blind box toys (盲盒) are bringing the new magic of surprise to people.
Blind boxes have become popular since they were first introduced from Japan to China in 2014. A blind box toy is hidden inside the same box. You don’t know what will be inside. The toys mainly come from pop culture, such as films, comics and cartoons. According to a Tmall report, the mini-series of Labubu blind box was sold (卖) 55000 in just 9 seconds during the Double Eleventh shopping festival. Most buyers of blind boxes are young people aged 18 to 35.
Blind box toys are popular in part because of their cute looks. The cute cartoon dolls come in small sizes, making them easy to display(展示) almost anywhere. Even if blind boxes are not people’s top choice for decorations, the surprise of opening a blind box also attracts people. It’s the main reason why people buy blind boxes one after another. When people open this little box, they may be disappointed(失望的), but the surprise is part of the fun. People will open more blind boxes and hope for a better outcome.
