Would you feel lucky or unlucky in this bad weather
There is a rainstorm.
I think I’d feel a mix of unlucky and lucky at the same time. It’s unlucky to get stuck in a sudden rainstorm while waiting for the bus, but it’s also lucky that there’s a bus stop shelter to keep me dry, and I’m not alone in this.
Last Friday started terribly. First, my alarm clock didn’t go off, so I woke up late and had to rush to the bus stop.
When I finally reached my classroom, out of breath, my teacher was already waiting at the door. Many others were also late because of the rainstorm. As a result, she said we weren’t having a test after all! What luck on my unlucky day!
A heavy rainstorm

I had a test that morning, so I was reviewing my notes while I was waiting for my bus. All of a sudden, thunder rolled across the sky. Then it started to pour. The wind was too strong for me to use my umbrella!
By the time the bus came, I was cold and wet. I was still worrying about the test when the bus driver said that we would be late. There was a landslide along our usual road.
Think of a title for Ma Li’s day.

The Day the Typhoon Came
Setting the scene: Last Sunday should to be a perfect day. I planned to go hiking with my best friend, so I packed early and left home at 7 a.m.
Developing the story: While I was waiting for the bus, the sky turned dark all of a sudden. The wind began to blow hard, and big raindrops started hitting my face. Then the typhoon warning went off. I was so scared that I ran to a subway station nearby as fast as I could.
By the time I got there, the rain was pouring down, and the wind was blowing the trees. I could hear loud thunder and see lightning. I felt cold, helpless, lonely and upset, because I our hiking plan was ruined.
Ending: When I called my friend to tell her I couldn’t come, she told me she was stuck at home too. Then she suggested we make a video call and bake cookies together instead. As a result, we spent the whole afternoon laughing, talking and sharing our favorite snacks online. Even though we couldn’t go hiking, we still had a great time. What a warm surprise on my “ruined” day!
