The rise of AI doctors is not like something from science fiction anymore. It’s really happening now. In different parts of China, AI doctors are bringing big changes to the medical field.
In February 2025, Beijing Children’s Hospital brought in the country’s first AI pediatrician (儿科医生). An 8-year-old boy had a sudden and serious illness. Thirteen top experts were trying hard to find the best treatment. At the same time, the AI doctor came up with a treatment plan and it was like the human doctors’ thoughts.
In Shandong, a couple were very distressed when their child had a high fever. They decided to try DeepSeek before going to the hospital. After putting in the description of the illness, the AI said it was probably a bacterial infection (细菌感染) and suggested some medicine. When they went to the hospital, the doctor gave exactly the same medicine.
Even in some villages of Jiangsu, AI doctors help patients tell about their illnesses and make it easier for disabled people to move around in the hospital.
All these examples show us two important things AI doctors can do. They can help top doctors make better choices and they can also make healthcare easier for everyone in the country. Back at home, I’d soon give up and hand the phone over to him after five minutes of listening to this kind of moaning.
But not here. Before we left, I had told my 10-year-old son the rule-no emails, no social media (社交媒体), no video games, and no phones. We came here to get away from them all. Here we were on our first day and already, he couldn’t stand it.
▲ I walked down the grass road to the beach and looked out to the sea. My 6-year-old daughter and my husband were drawing on pieces of wood. They were doing just fine.
On Day 2, we spent the whole morning digging for shells (贝壳). This time, my son joined us. He was excited to collect shellfish and other sea treasures. When we got back to our little wood house, I gave my son a book and put him on the lovely garden chair. It was almost dinner when he looked up.
The next few days passed in peace.
On Day 6, my son was lying beside me on the beach, watching the sun going down. He was playing with the sand. And there was something shining in his eyes. Last Saturday, I made a big mistake. I found my favourite storybook with a torn (撕破) page. Seeing my little brother Tim nearby with a tape in his hand, I rushed to blame (责怪) him. “You tore my book 1 purpose!” I shouted at him angrily. Tim’s face turned red. “I didn’t! I just wanted to read it!” he yelled back (喊道) before running away, upset that I never shared my books with him.
For the rest of the day, we didn’t speak. I felt upset—my favourite book was broken, and my 2 (angry) made me want to cry. When my friend Emma came over, she noticed my bad mood and asked what happened.
After I told her, Emma said, “I advise you 3 (talk) to Tim. Try to put 4 (you) in his shoes—maybe he didn’t mean to hurt you. Also, you two need to clear 5 air instead of staying mad.” 6 I was still a bit angry, I decided to follow her advice.
I knew she was right. I found Tim in his room, quietly drawing. “I’m sorry I yelled at you,” I said softly. “It wasn’t right to blame you without 7 (listen) first.” He looked up and said, “I’m sorry I tore your book. I just wanted to read it.” 8 (last), we sat down and fixed the page together. I 9 (forgive) him, and we laughed like before. I learned that even small fights can end easily if we talk openly, not with 10 (hurt) words. In fact, a little understanding can sometimes make a relationship even stronger than before.
五.任务型阅读
Many terrible things happen in the kitchen every year. However, we often forget how dangerous they can be because we go there every day. In fact, the kitchen is one of the most common places for home accidents. There are many reasons: Some kitchen designs are poor, or people do something wrong while cooking. No matter what the reason is, you can’t be too careful in the kitchen. Then how can you try to keep yourself away from dangers in the kitchen
First of all, always keep your kitchen clean and tidy. Clean your stove and oven after use. Don’t leave food on the stove or in the oven, or it may catch fire. If there is water on the floor, remember to clean it up right away, or it can easily make you fall.
Secondly, keep dangerous kitchen things in the right place. Knives, scissors and other sharp (锋利的) things can be dangerous for young children. Instead of putting them on the table, keep them where children cannot reach. But don't put them too high, or they may hurt you when they fall down.
Thirdly, don't leave the kitchen when you are cooking. You must stay in the kitchen to keep an eye on the food you cook. And don't look at your phone or do other things. If you have to be away from the kitchen, turn off the stove.
Finally, as many fires start in the kitchen, prepare a fire extinguisher at home. Make sure you know how to put out a fire with it.
