One possible version:
Embrace the Imperfect Self
There was a time when I thought I had to be perfect. But one day, I learned to let go of that idea.
I once worked really hard on an English exam and practiced for weeks. However, I didn’t get the grade I
wanted. I felt upset and lost, thinking I was not good enough. Later, my teacher Mr. White comforted me and told
me that imperfection is common in life.
I started to accept my mistakes and learn from them instead of blaming myself. I kept working patiently and
never gave up. As time went by, I became much more confident.
From this experience, I truly understand that growth is not about being perfect. It is more important to
embrace the imperfect self and keep moving forward bravely.

“What’s on TV, Grandma ” 19-year-old Du Liangqian from Henan asked, noticing his 83-year-old grandma
looking at the screen all the time.
“The flag-raising at Tian’anmen Square. I wish I could be there to watch it live one day,” she said softly. Her
eyes showed great interest and happiness.
Du said nothing. ① His father had lost his ability to work because of illness; his mother did many
hard jobs to support the family. Taking Grandma to Beijing seemed impossible. But that longing look stayed with
Du. ②
“Going to work again ” his friends asked.
“Yes. I do a part-time job at the library, take food and packages to students and wash dishes at school,” Du
said. ③
That summer, Du worked very hard. He worked at a shop in the morning. Then he sent food to people on his
bike in the town. At night, he sold phone covers on the street. For over forty days, his back ached badly, but he kept
counting coins — over 3,000 yuan. That’s enough. ④
“Grandma, get dressed. We’re leaving now.”
“Where to ”
“The place you’ve always wanted to go to.”
At Tian’anmen Square, Grandma walked very fast. When the music played and the flag went up, Grandma
stood very straight. Her eyes were bright, and a strong sense of pride filled her heart.
“If not for my grandson,” she turned, tears welling, “I would never have seen Beijing in my lifetime.”
Du’s throat felt tight (紧). The aching back, those coin-counting moments — all was worth it.
“Grandma,” he held her hand, “once I save enough, I’ll take you back to your hometown in Guizhou.”
Grandma froze, and then laughed through her tears.

Imagine calling a flying taxi with your phone and flying over the city to school! This is not just a movie — it
is actually happening now in China.
Flying taxis, also called eVTOLs, are a new kind of aircraft (飞行器). They can take off and land straight up
like helicopters (直升机) but look more like a future plane. They run on electricity, so they are quiet and do not
pollute the air. In February 2026, several Chinese companies showed their latest models in Wuhan. Crowds of
people watched in surprise as these amazing machines lifted off from the ground, and many quickly took out their
phones to film the exciting moment. They were surprised and excited.
Some flying taxis can carry people. The EH216-S from Guangzhou takes two passengers and flies itself along
set routes (路线 ) without a pilot. It is now used by the police for traffic management and rescue work. Other
models carry goods instead of people. One eVTOL from Wuhan can fly over 1,000 km — that is like flying from
Wuhan to Beijing without stopping!
The coolest one might be the “flying ambulance (救护车 ) with medical equipment”. This special eVTOL
carries some medical machines like a small CT machine. It can reach emergency areas much faster than an
ambulance, saving lives when every second counts. Best of all, it costs much less to use than a traditional helicopter.
China wants to be the world leader in flying taxis. Shanghai plans to build a huge industry worth 80 billion
yuan by 2028. A Chinese company even made the world’s largest eVTOL — it weighs 5 tons and can carry 10
passengers or 1.5 tons of goods. With flying taxis getting cheaper and better, they may soon become part of our
daily lives. The future of travel is arriving faster than we think!
