On February 23, 2026, 50 Unitree G1 humanoid robots gave a wonderful kung fu show at the Temple of Heaven in China. This show made their famous Wu BOT performance from the 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala popular all over the world again.
The robots wore traditional red tops. They can move very accurately (精准地)—down to a tiny millimetre and they can react in less than 0.01 seconds. They also have flexible hands, which help them keep perfect balance when doing difficult moves. They did kung fu moves, careful flips and special gestures perfectly. This is something that common robots cannot do. These successes show big progress in the development of humanoid robots and making them in large numbers.
The show took place in front of beautiful old Chinese buildings. It brought together traditional Chinese culture and new high technology. Soon, the show spread around the world and got lots of praise. International media called it a great wonder of engineering.
This event tells us that China is becoming more and more influential in the field of smart robots. What makes this show so special is that it not only shows us amazing skills but also finds a new way to share traditional culture with the world. Most architects hope to bring special features to a city, and Ieoh Ming Pei (贝聿铭), one of the world’s most famous architects, achieved this dream. He spent all his lifetime designing classic landmark buildings worldwide.
The Louvre Pyramid in Paris, the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong and the Suzhou Museum in China are just a few of his many creations.
Pei once said that a typical (典型的) style of design is of no help to an architect. Instead, he was known for his special style, bringing together seemingly opposite ideas into each design—East and West, ancient and modern, natural and man-made.
This may come from his education. Born and raised in China, he went to the US to study architecture (建筑) at 18. Pei tried to add local and historical ideas to his designs. When he designed the Suzhou Museum in the 2000s, he took new ideas from the city’s beautiful classical gardens. Pei built small halls with traditional white walls and dark roofs, in the style of local gardens.
Moreover, Pei thought that light played an important role in creating a lively mood. He cared a lot about sunshine in his designs. The glass pyramid of the Louvre Museum in Paris is a good example. It doesn’t hide the buildings around it. Instead, it reflects (映照) them in the sunlight. It also serves as a huge window, letting sunlight into the museum.
His wonderful works won him many awards, like the Pritzker Architecture Prize, Presidential Medal of Freedom.
What Pei valued most in architecture was that the buildings could “stand the test of time”. As The New York Times sums up, he didn’t just want to solve problems but also to produce “an architecture of ideas”.

My sweet memory
Middle school life is coming to an end. I will always keep the sweet memories in mind.
One of the most unforgettable moments was the school sports meet in Grade 8. I took part in the 800-metre race and fell halfway. Just as I wanted to give up, my classmates ran to me and cheered me on. With their encouragement, I stood up and finished the race. Though I didn’t win, I felt the warmth of friendship deeply.
To the younger students, I hope you will value every moment here. Don’t be afraid of difficulties, because your teachers and friends are always there for you. Join different activities and try new things—these experiences will become your sweet memories in the future.
