When a doctor chooses not to tell his patient the truth that he or she cannot be cured, he is telling a white lie.
Generally speaking, people tell white lies mainly for two reasons. First, it is not always polite to tell the truth. Sometimes, we need to make up stories to show our politeness. Second, honesty can hurt people's feelings at times, while white lies can help avoid that. However, it is questionable that white lies can always be good.
In my opinion, we should be careful with the words we use to make people comfortable instead of cheating others.

Honesty and responsibility are two traditional virtues of our nation. Without them, there would be a
trust crisis and our society would be out of order.
People take in others mainly for their own interests. For example, some students cheat in exams in order to get higher grades. Meanwhile, irresponsible people are often afraid of taking the consequences.
As for me, I will learn to be honest and responsible in my daily life. Do my best to complete what I should do and bravely face the results.

As the chief scientist of a national deep-Earth exploration programme, he worked tirelessly day and night, often neglecting his health. His hard work led to major breakthroughs, helping to discover valuable resources and advancing China’s technology to a world-class level.
Sadly, this devoted scientist passed away in 2017, but his legacy continues to inspire us.

Dear David,
Learning that you are about to attend your coming-of-age ceremony, I’d like to share some thoughts on what adulthood means.
First, taking responsibility is crucial in life. A person without a sense of responsibility is like a ship without an anchor. Second, being responsible for yourself helps build a strong character. You should be accountable for your successes and failures, and always aim for excellence. Finally, we also have a responsibility to society. Even small actions, like doing volunteer work, can make a difference and inspire others.
Adulthood may bring challenges, but with responsibility, it will be a rewarding journey.
