If you' re nearsighted, you can see close things clearly, but things far away look blurry (模糊的).This is a problem that is becoming more common in kids around the world. Research shows that spend-ing a couple of hours outside every day can help stop or slow down nearsightedness, although it's not clear why. One possible reason is that your eyes see more changes in light and more different shapes outside instead of just smooth, flat surfaces. This natural environment gives your eyes a kind of exercise, helping them stay healthy.
To test this idea, scientists in China decorated(装饰) indoor classrooms to look like woodlands. They covered walls and desks with pictures of trees and leaves. They painted the ceiling(天花板) to look like the sky. They tried to create as much stimulation for the eyes to see as you would get out-doors.
For one year, about 250 9-year-olds had their lessons in the woodland classrooms, while another250 were taught in regular classrooms with white walls. At the end of the year, the scientists tested the children's vision(视力) and found that the kids in the woodland classrooms showed fewer signs of near-sightedness. However, being in the decorated classrooms did not help kids who were already nearsight-ed. Experts say that decorating classrooms cannot replace spending time outdoors, but it might be bet-ter than nothing.

Have you ever wanted to read a good book in a quiet, green place Now in China, there are some bookstores in parks. They let people read close to na-ture.
Chengdu was the first city to put forward the idea of a“park city”. It has mixed bookstores with parks and greenways. For example,“Jinshu Lai” is such a nice reading place on the Jinjiang Greenway. Elsewhere, this trend(趋势) is also on the rise. For example, at a bookstore on Guishan Moun-tain in Wuhan, readers can enjoy great views of famous landmarks(地标) like the Yangtze RiverBridge while they read. In Beijing, bookstores in Beijisi Park are now mixed with cafes(咖啡馆) and restaurants, so visitors can stay much longer than in a usual city bookstore. In the future, more cities plan to create mixed places like“Coffee Factory” along the greenway, based on the“book + coffee”style.

On November 5, 2025, UNESCO set March 21 as International Taijiquan Day. March 21 is around the time of the spring equinox(春分). On this day, the day is as long as the night. This fits the ideas of yin-yang balance and harmonious coexistence(和谐共存) in Taijiquan. This is the first time an international day has been named after a martial art(武术) within the UN system. This shows the global acceptance of the important value of Taijiquan.
Taijiquan is a traditional Chinese sport and an important part of Chinese martial arts. In 2020,UNESCO placed Taijiquan on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity(人类非物质文化遗产名录). Taijiquan is deeply influenced by traditional Chinese ideas and health rules, such as the bal-ance between yin and yang, and harmony between people and nature. Everything keeps changing. Yin and yang depend on each other and affect each other. That's why humans can get on well with nature and people can use softness to beat hardness.
In China, Taijiquan has been practiced for about 600 years. If you walk through a park, you might see people performing slow and beautiful movements. They are doing Taijiquan. Practicing Taijiquan is good for health and frees people from pressure.
Taijiquan is getting more and more popular in the world. Over time, it has developed into several styles— Chen, Yang, Wu, and Sun styles. Nowadays, there are hundreds of millions of people practi-cing Taijiquan around the world, and Taijiquan has spread to more than 180 countries and regions(地区).

【普通范文】
Dear friends,
Today I want to share an experience about my classmate Li Hua teaching Chinese calligraphy to an exchange student.
Last Wednesday, Li Hua was practicing Chinese calligraphy when Sally, an exchange student, saw it and became very interested. Li Hua introduced the Four Treasures of the Study to her and taught her how to hold the brush and write basic strokes. Sally practiced again and again. Although her hand shook at first, she kept trying and finally succeeded in writing her first Chinese character “人”. Li Hua told her that calligraphy is not just about writing—it’s also a way to cultivate one’s mind.
I think Li Hua did a good job in spreading Chinese culture. I’m proud of Li Hua for sharing our traditional art with others.
Thank you for listening!

Dear friends,
Today I want to share an experience about my classmate Li Hua teaching Chinese calligraphy to an exchange student.
Last Wednesday, when Li Hua was practicing Chinese calligraphy quietly, our foreign exchange student Sally passed by and showed great interest in it. Patiently, Li Hua introduced the Four Treasures of the Study to her and carefully taught her the correct brush-holding posture as well as basic strokes. Sally tried again and again. Even though her hands shook a lot, she never gave up and finally wrote the Chinese character “人”. Li Hua told her that calligraphy is more than just writing—it is a way to cultivate one’s mind.
In my opinion, Li Hua is a great cultural messenger. His kindness and patience help spread traditional Chinese culture, and we should follow his example to tell Chinese stories well.
Thank you for listening!
