课题 Unit 8 Green Living Lesson 1 Roots and Shoots
单元指导思想与理论依据
《普通高中英语课程标准（2017 版）》指出：“普通高中英语课程具有重要的育人功能，旨在发展学生的语言能力、文化意识、思维品质和学习能力等英语学科核心素养，落实立德树人根本任务。”指向学生学科核心素养的英语教学应在主题意义的引领下，以语篇为依托，整合性地学习语言知识和文化知识，通过学习理解、应用实践、迁移创新等一系列促进语言、文化、思维融合发展的活动， 帮助学生以主动、合作、探究的学习方式， 运用所学语言知识和听、说、读、写、看等语言技能， 以及多种学习策略，获取文化知识，发展逻辑思维和批判思维，使围绕主题意义的探究活动逐步从基于语篇的学习走向深入语篇和超越语篇的解决问题的过程，实现从知识向能力，能力向素养的转化，把英语学科素养的育人目标落到实处。 主题语境不仅规约着语言知识和文化知识的学习范围，还为语言学习提供意义语境，并有机渗透情感、态度和价值观。教师在主题探究活动的设计上，要注意激发学生参与的活动的兴趣，调动学生已有的基于该主题的理解和认识。 《课标》中语言技能内容对选择性必修理解性技能做出如下要求“区分、分析和概括语篇中的主要观点和事实；识别语篇中的内容要点和相应的支撑论据：根据语篇标题预测语篇的体裁和结构；根据上下文推断语篇中的隐含意义”等，从而引导学生在阅读过程中关注并恰当运用理解性技能

教学内容分析： 【主题意义】 文章属于“人与环自然 ”主题的环境保护话题。本文介绍了世界著名动物行为学家珍 ·古道尔教授建立环保组织---“根与芽 ”的初衷及其目的和意义。其主题意义在于让学生通过了解该环保组织， 认知到生活当中每个人都能做一点事情，对环境产生影响，并号召学生行动起来，参与到环境保护的活动中去。 【语篇类型】：说明文 【课标要求】 能从一般性文章中获取主要信息，能理解以环境保护为主题的文章的语篇要义，提高环保意识，在
日常生活中做到低碳、节俭， 将世界建设得愈加美好。能识别语篇的类型和结构， 辨识和分析语篇的文体特征及衔接手段。 【What】 Lesson 1 “Roots & Shoots” unfolds around the topic of energy-conservation, harmony between human, animal and plant and non-profit action. This passage belongs to the topic of “Human and Society” and introduce some energy wasting phenomena as well as the history and development of the “Roots & Shoots”. The passage implies multiple information about human, society and nature and the author's thinking and feeling. 【How】 This is an expository writing containing four paragraphs, each of which focus on different aspects. And each paragraph relates to a logic order from general information to detailed information. Para 1 mentions a problem-- “Just-me-ism” and introduces it, then para 2 puts forward a solution that is the found of “Roots and Shoots”. And the last two paras introduces the organization’s meaning and philosophy. 【Why】 The author, through introducing Dr. Jane Goodall and the “Roots & Shoots”, hopes people can aware the waste of energy and participate in the voluntary and cooperated work to save and energy and consolidate the relationship between human, nature and animals. 【学情分析】 学生为高一年级学生,学生英语水平一般，词汇量有限，在阅读和口语表达方面能力有待提高，班级大多数同学态度认真，学习踏实，但较缺乏思维力和敏感度，课堂上有一定的参与度，但是总体表现一般。 他们对环保已经有一定的认识但对于“根与芽 ”了解有限，在此基础上需要进一步培养他们的环保意识。学生普遍具备一定的阅读和听力水平，但在口语表达方面可能存在一定的难度。针对学生学情，教师采用任务型教学法，通过提出问题和讨论引导学生积极参与到绿色生活话题中，激发学生学习的兴趣，培养学生的合作精神和创造力。 并且穿插关于环保的图片和视频，旨在激发学生的兴趣。在阅读过程中，设计了难度层次分明的任务，给予学生阅读策略的指导，帮助学生能够分析理解语篇的主题意义，并且能够根据自己的理解表达观点及启发，提高自身对于环境保护，绿色生活的主题意义的内化和探究。
Teaching objectives 、key and important points
After the class, students can:

Difficult points: 1. effectively and flexibly choose relevant reading skills to get the information. 2. identify the structure of the text and the inherent relationship of each part. 3.develop the critical thinking and raise awareness of green life

Activity： Role Play: work in groups. And each group has a special identity. Your city is applying for the national civilized city . So discuss what we can do to make contributions to our school and our city. New identity: as the mayor, as a citizen and as a student. After sharing, teacher will summarize their answers and invite Ss to make a conclusion about what we have learned today.
