Interpersonal Communication in the Age of Social Media
With the rise of social media, family interactions has changed greatly. Thus, it’s
time to think about how social media shapes our family ties.
While keeping us digitally connected, it weakens face-to-face bonds. Family
dinners, once filled with lively chatters, now often pass in silent scrolling. Although
we are physically together, we may feel emotionally apart.
In my view, we should set some “no phone time” at home to bring back
meaningful conversations. Besides, we can use social media wisely, like creating a
family cloud album to record happy moments. Let’s make screens a bridge, not a wall,
between family members. Only in this way can technology truly bring us closer.

I fought back tears as I walked up to Mrs. Bartlett. "Why." Before I finished my
sentence, she gently placed a hand on my shoulder, saying with a knowing smile,"I
know what you want, but your group needs you. Only you can help them get a passing
grade on this assignment." So surprised was I that I couldn't say a single word for a
moment. She had seen something in me I hadn’t seen. The power of being trusted
made me stand straighter."Will you help them " she asked. "Yes," I replied. I couldn’t
believe it came out of my mouth, but it did.
Halfway through the week, I felt myself enjoying the company of these three
misfits.I grew sincerely interested in learning something about them.Mauro,I found
out, was struggling with English,Juliette wore long skirts because of her religion and
Rachel dreamed of being a fashion designer. They weren’t misfits. They were just
people that no one had tried to understand--except Mrs. Bartlett. I was lucky to be
given a chance to see them in a new light. The project went smoothly with our joint
efforts. Mrs. Bartlett gave us an A for that assignment, which should be handed back
to her, for she was the one who truly deserved it.
