Learning goals
1. 观察并归纳过去进行时的结构（was/were + doing）及其基本用法，理解其表示过去某一时刻或时间段正在进行的动作。
2. 理解并区分 when 和 while 在引导时间状语从句时的不同用法（when 后接短暂性动作或同时性动作，while 后接持续性动作）。
3. 能正确运用过去进行时描述过去某个时刻正在发生的事情。能用 when 和 while 连接两个同时发生的动作，并能根据语境选择合适的连词。
4. 能完成课本 4a–4c 的语法练习，并在情境中准确使用目标语法。
一、核心语法：过去进行时
1. 基本概念
过去进行时，用来描述过去某一个具体的时间点/时间段内，正在持续进行的动作。
- 结构： 肯定句： 主语+was/were + 动词-ing
- 主语是I/he/she/单数名词 → 用 was
- 主语是you/we/they/复数名词 → 用 were
课本例句拆解：
- What were you doing while it was snowing heavily
（大雪纷飞的时候，你正在做什么？）
这里的 were doing 和 was snowing ，都是过去进行时，描述两个同时持续的动作

用 was 或 were 填空，补全句子。

-- when跟 短动作（瞬间发生）， while跟长动作（同时进行），
一长一短用when , 两长动作用while 。
- when跟 短动作（瞬间发生） （一般过去时）(理解：一个正在进行的持续的动作，被一个短暂的动作打断了。)

1. 过去进行时 + when + 一般过去时 （最常考）
核心逻辑：一个持续的长动作（过去进行时），被一个短暂的突发动作（一般过去时）打断。
- We were driving home when the strong winds started.
- They were reading in the library when the rainstorm came.
- When my neighbour called, my family were having dinner.
2. while + 过去进行时，主句一般过去时」
核心逻辑：在一个持续动作进行的过程中，发生了另一个动作。
While we were driving home, the strong winds started.
- While you were sleeping, I called Jenny and she helped me.
3. while + 过去进行时，主句也用过去进行时
核心逻辑：两个动作在过去同时持续发生。
- While Linda was sleeping, Jenny was helping Mary with her homework.
- It was raining hard while we were driving back.
二、易错题（when/while 辨析）
选择正确的连词填空。

- 逻辑：长动作进行时，被短动作打断，用 when ，主句改过去进行时。

2. The power went out. My father and I made dinner.
步骤分析：
- 长动作： made dinner （做饭，可持续）
- 短动作： went out （停电，瞬间发生）
- 逻辑：做饭时突然停电，用 when ，主句改过去进行时。
合并答案：
My father and I were making dinner when the power went out.
3. Kate wrote a letter. Her brother called to warn her of the storm.
步骤分析：
- 长动作： wrote a letter （写信，可持续）
- 短动作： called （打电话，瞬间发生）
- 逻辑：写信时被电话打断，用 when ，主句改过去进行时。
合并答案：
Kate was writing a letter when her brother called to warn her of the storm.
4. My parents packed the supplies. I moved our things off the floor.
步骤分析：
- 两个都是长动作： packed the supplies （打包物资）和 moved our things （搬东西），
都是可持续的动作，强调“同时进行”。
- 逻辑：两个动作同时发生，用 while ，两个句子都改成过去进行时。
合并答案：
While my parents were packing the supplies , I was moving our things off the floor.
（也可以反过来写： I was moving our things off the floor while my parents were packing the supplies. ）
5. I slept soundly. It rained cats and dogs.
步骤分析：
- 两个都是长动作： slept soundly （熟睡）和 rained cats and dogs （下大雨），都是可持续的动作，强调“同时进行”。
- 逻辑：两个动作同时发生，用 while ，两个句子都改成过去进行时。
合并答案：
While I was sleeping soundly, it was raining cats and dogs.
（也可以反过来写： I was sleeping soundly while it was raining cats and dogs. ）
