一般现在时 Later, Mary tells her secret to a new friend, Dickon. The young boy knows a lot about gardening, and they work together to make the garden beautiful again. 1. 无时间距离感,情节仿佛正在发生。
2. 展示故事核心框架。
该小说梗概主要使用一般现在时(或称 “叙事现在时”)。
一般现在时能使故事叙述更生动,读起来有现场感;同时叙述中夹杂过去时,用于描述背景信息或过去的事件,与现在的主要情节形成对比。

My favourite character is Mary. Because she changes from a selfish girl into a kind and lively person.
Because it is about a hidden garden, and it also stands for people’s hidden hearts and feelings. You need to unlock a person’s heart so that he / she can heal and grow, just like how nature and friendship help Colin recover and step out of his secret world.
I’ve learnt that nature and friendship can heal us, and we can become better by caring for others.
