根据画线短语下文的“they don’t want to admit loving their optional medieval history

attacks.”
B 项中 diseases(疾病)范围太广,与文章不符。

根据第二段中“The center was set up in 2001 and built a wildlife rescue base in the

根据第三段中的“For example, the regulation states clearly that Beijing bans hunting
throughout the year, compared with the previous regulation which bans hunting during the periods of
March to May and September to November each year. The new regulation also gives more serious
故选 A 项。
根据最后一段中“We will step up the publicity of the regulation and raise citizens’
awareness of wildlife protection(我们将加强对该规定的宣传,提高公民保护野生动物的意识)”可知
根据第三段中的“On June 1, the city’s newly adopted regulation on wildlife protection
took effect, introducing stricter and more concrete measures to protect the environment and wildlife(. 6 月 1
The enforcement of the new regulation marked a new stage in Beijing’s wildlife
protection work,’ said Mr. Du.(‘新规定的实施标志着北京野生动物保护工作进入了一个新阶段。’

56. environmental 57. forces 58. Inspired 59. changing 60. a
61. and 62. has completed 63. to experience 64. Similarly 65. which
61. and carefully considering the form 和 selecting the animal image 是并列的动作,所以用并列连
词 and。
63. to experience 固定搭配 allow sb. to do sth.(允许某人做某事),所以用不定式 to experience。
65. which 这是一个非限制性定语从句,先行词 Water Mirror Terrace at Jinci Temple 是物,且从句
Notice:Let’s Care for Our Campus Friends
Recently, we have witnessed a sharp rise in the number of stray cats on campus. While these furry
friends brighten our days, too many cats mean big troubles: kittens fighting over food, leftovers attracting
5
pests, and scared cats accidentally scratching students passing by.
Here’s how we can help! By contacting local cat shelters and donating to them, we’ll get these cats
properly housed. What’s more, it would be better if you can adopt one, which gives them a cozy home and
keeps our campus cleaner. Plus, joining our “Cat Guardians” team to tidy feeding spots and watch for sick
cats makes a huge difference!
Let’s act now! Message me if you’d like to do something. Your kindness matters to everyone — both
humans and cats!

第二节
David was determined to help that boy due to his own life story. He went to the woman, who
immediately recognized him because she had read his books and seen his pictures. David started to chat
with her. He told her that what she said to her boy was not appropriate. Then he told her about the
encouragement he once got from Mrs. Brown. In the end, he said, “I couldn’t have become a writer if I had
believed I was good at nothing.”
The mother was ashamed when hearing that. She realized that she shouldn’t have called her son
stupid, which would make him lose confidence in himself. So she said, “Thank you for your advice. I’ll
never say such things to him again. Instead, I’ll find out what he’s good at and encourage him.” The
woman then left with the boy. Looking at the back of the boy, David felt relieved, hoping his action could
make a difference to the boy.

She is a very experienced professor, and I am encouraged to see she has such a passion for this important
job. I’d also like to congratulate her for getting married. Anne, I wish you a long and happy life, and I hope
you enjoy your honeymoon in France. Finally, I’d like to thank Craig Anderson. It was he who had
convinced me to work here, otherwise I would have become a lawyer. So what will I do with myself now
As you know, I’m interested in language learning. I already speak Spanish, so my next plan is to learn
Chinese. My wife and I will go to China this summer. Once again, thank you, everyone. I will truly miss
you all.
