Tiangong is China’s space station. It flies about 400 kilometers above Earth and looks like a “T”. The station weighs 68.5 tons. EAST is called the “Artificial (人造的) Sun” because it does what the sun does: it makes clean, safe energy through nuclear fusion (核聚变). On January 20, 2025, EAST set a new world record. It made over 100 million °C gas for 1,066 seconds. This is a great step toward giving the world clean, never-ending energy in the future.

The hiking team was ahead, but Maya did not move. She sat on a rock without a word. She kept her head down, and her eyes were full of tears.
One hour ago, Maya, the leader of the group, was at the front of the team. She had the map, and everyone followed her. But she made a careless mistake and took a wrong turn. The group walked twenty minutes in the wrong direction before Mr. Lin, their coach, found the mistake. The sun was hot, and everyone was tired.
“Maya, why the long face ” Mr. Lin sat beside her.
“I made a mistake,” Maya cried. “I led everyone the wrong way.”
“Maya,” Mr. Lin said, “although I have years of hiking experience, I still make mistakes.”
“But we lost so much time,” Maya said.
“Yes, we did,” Mr. Lin said. “And now we should walk faster.”
Maya shook her head. “I am a bad leader. I let everybody down!”
“Maya, a team is not a group of people who never make mistakes. A team is a group of people who help each other when mistakes happen,” Mr. Lin said. “One mistake doesn’t make you a failure. But you can learn from this.”
Maya stood up slowly and walked up to her team. “I am really sorry, everyone. That was my fault,” she said to her teammates. “Let’s keep going. And I promise I will be more careful this time.”
Maya was surprised that they welcomed her back without anger. “Hey, don’t be hard on yourself,” one of them said. “It’s never just one person’s fault. A good team does not need a perfect leader. A good team needs people who keep going together.”
Maya looked around at them and was all smiles. She felt lucky to be part of such a good team.
Maya, the leader of a hiking team, made a careless mistake and led her group the wrong way for twenty minutes. The mistake cost them time and energy under the hot sun. Interview Outline
Name Hobby Reason
Hao Xu keeping a dog I am happy to look after it.
Chen Yu playing ping-pong It makes me feel energetic.
Li Wei making scarves It gives me a sense of achievement.
... ... ...
Our Opinion
Try to have a balance. Tech hobbies are fun and relaxing, but such hobbies usually need a lot of screen time. That could cause problems like eye strain or feeling lonely. You could add a physical activity to keep healthy, or a creative hobby to express yourself. Try something new like cooking or collecting. A mix of different hobbies will help you become a better person.
After all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Making time for hobbies is just as important as working hard.
44. Please complete the chart.
45. Why don’t some students have hobbies
46. Who has a physical hobby according to Interview Outline
