Ever seen a lantern that spins on its own In Jiangxi Province, there’s a special kind called the “trotting horse lamp(走马灯)”. It’s not just any lantern—it’s a moving piece of art often used during festivals like the Spring Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. People light it to wish for good luck in the coming year.
What makes it so fun is how it works. Inside, there’s a paper wheel with beautiful cuttings—often of people riding horses. At the bottom, small candles burn and heat the air. As warm air rises, it makes the wheel turn slowly. Then the shadows of the paper horses appear on the screen, chasing one another in a lively circle—just like real trotting horses! That’s how it got its name.
This lantern is more than just a decoration; it’s part of China’s cultural heritage. It shows the cleverness of ancient Chinese artists who used simple science to create magic with light and motion.
But making a trotting horse lamp isn’t easy. It takes great skill in painting and paper cutting, plus lots of patience. Today, most experts are elderly, and they worry this art could fade away. Luckily, some schools are starting clubs where students can learn to make their own simple versions. As the older masters say, “We hope young people will keep this wonderful tradition alive!”
1. What is the main power source for the lantern’s movement
A. A hidden electric motor. B. Heat produced by candles.
C. Wind passing through holes. D. A hand-turned paper wheel.
2. During which festivals is the lantern commonly used
A. Dragon Boat and Lantern Festivals. B. Spring Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.
C. Christmas and New Year’s Day. D. National Day and Labor Day.
3. What does the author think about the lantern’s creators
A. They were poor but creative. B. They used science to make art.
C. They copied foreign technology. D. They worked only for money.
4. How are some schools helping to protect this tradition
A. By selling lanterns online. B. By inviting experts to give talks.
C. By starting learning clubs. D. By building new museums.
5. What is the main purpose of the text
A. To explain how to make a lantern. B. To introduce a traditional art form.
C. To compare different lantern types. D. To advertise a festival event.

There are usually blackboards, rows of desks, and one-size-fits-all instruction in traditional classrooms. But what will education look like fifty years from now In fact, classrooms are experiencing great changes. With the rise of AI, students today can learn at their own speed and follow interest-based ways. In addition, with the development of new teaching methods and space designs, we are moving closer to the goal of providing education for all students.
The traditional classroom model, including the traditional teaching-to-the-test method, is no longer suitable for supporting the needs of 21st-century learning. In its place, creative future classroom design and Project-Based Learning (PBL) have appeared as important parts in modern educational changes. New classroom spaces, both physical and digital, are specially designed to improve team spirit, creativity, and student-centered learning.
Changeable physical spaces are central to this change. Classrooms will have more changeable furniture, writable walls, and open floor plans that can meet different needs. This allows for quick changes between personal focus time, small-group teamwork, and whole-class discussion—a necessary design for PBL.
What's more, school buildings will have more natural light, sound design, indoor plants and nature views, which will reduce stress and improve health.
As schools continue to develop, those that put personalized learning environments in the first place will best provide students with the lifelong skills and thinking abilities needed for the future.

A.Because of interest. B.Because of teamwork.
C.Because of AI's development. D.Because of teachers' encouragement.

A.Negative. B.Positive. C.Doubtful. D.Uninterested.
44.What will natural light and indoor plants help do

C. Christmas and New Year’s Day. D. National Day and Labor Day.

C. By starting learning clubs. D. By building new museums.
5. What is the main purpose of the text
