Shanghai. However, the 37-year-old’s new career began with unexpected challenges. As a
newcomer, she often got lost in the city’s complex network of streets, which left her in tears by the roadside on more than one occasion.
Despite the difficult start, Tian refused to give up. Through consistent effort, she gradually mastered the most efficient delivery routes and built an excellent service record. Over time, her
attitude toward the job changed significantly. “At first, I was just doing it for the money,” she explained. “But now I feel a sense of purpose. I’m helping people and making their daily lives more convenient.”
Tian’s experience reflects a broader trend. Data from Meituan, a major delivery platform, shows that the number of female riders increased from 517,000 to 701,000 between 2022 and
2024. Many women are attracted to such jobs because of their flexibility and the opportunities they offer.
Eager to improve herself, Tian enrolled in an online university program to study digital
media art and design. This decision brought unexpected changes to her life. She began sharing
short videos on social media, documenting her daily experiences as a delivery rider. Her story, from a struggling newcomer to a nationally recognized role model, shows how perseverance can turn challenges into opportunities for growth.

On International Women’s Day 2026, the world is reminded of a key goal: to ensure that women and girls enjoy the same legal protections as men and boys. This year’s theme “Rights. Justice. Action.” highlights the need to remove barriers that limit women’s rights.
Global data shows the challenge remains huge. Thirty years after major women’s rights agreements, no country has achieved full legal equality between women and men. On average, women hold only 64 percent of the legal rights that men have. In nearly one in four countries, women need permission from a husband or parent to get contraceptive (避孕的) services. In 54 percent of countries, the legal definition of rape (强暴) is not based on whether agreement was freely given.
Gender-based (基于性别的) violence is still a serious problem. Nearly one in three women experience violence from a partner in their lifetime. Every 10 minutes, a woman is killed by
someone close to her. Fewer than 40 percent of survivors seek help, and even fewer go to the
police. Barriers include lack of legal aid, stigma, and fear of being hurt again by the legal process.
New challenges are also appearing. Technology-facilitated violence, such as online harassment (骚扰), is growing fast, but laws in many countries have not kept up. However,
evidence shows that laws can make a difference. In countries with laws against domestic violence, teenage girls are about 40 percent less likely to experience violence.
UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, works with many countries to strengthen
laws and services. It focuses on ending preventable maternal deaths, ending unmet need for family planning, and ending gender-based violence. The organization believes that when women and girls can claim their rights, societies become healthier and more prosperous.
28 .The author uses so many numbers in paragraph 2 to support the idea that .
A .gender inequality still remains widespread
B .most countries have made sufficient progress in gender equality
C .economic development automatically leads to legal equality
D .women’s rights are better protected in high-income countries
29 .What can be inferred about survivors of gender-based violence from paragraph 3
A .They receive adequate support in most cases.
B .Their unwillingness to seek help is mainly due to financial difficulties.
C .Multiple factors discourage them from reporting violence.
D .Most survivors eventually find justice through legal ways.
30 .Why does the passage mention countries with laws against domestic violence
A .To show that laws can effectively reduce violence
B .To prove that all countries should adopt the same legal approach
C .To suggest that laws alone are enough to solve the problem
D .To criticize countries that lack such laws
31 .What is the author’s main purpose in writing this passage
A .To celebrate the achievements of International Women’s Day
B .To highlight ongoing challenges in achieving gender equality
C .To compare different countries’ approaches to women’s rights
D .To promote UNFPA’s work in many countries

China is accelerating the development of its 5G network and laying the groundwork for
future 6G technology, officials and experts said at the 6th Digital China Summit in Fuzhou. By the
end of March, the number of 5G base stations in the country had exceeded 2.64 million, forming the world’s largest 5G network. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that it will continue to support the construction of 5G infrastructure, accelerate its industrial
applications, and promote research and development of 6G while strengthening international cooperation.
The application of 5G has expanded significantly, being adopted in 52 out of 97 major
economic categories, with large-scale use in mining, ports, and electricity. Zhang Wang from the Cyberspace Administration of China emphasized that 5G serves as a critical foundation for
artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing, and called for exploring new application scenarios (场景) to empower traditional industries.
Huawei’s president Cao Ming noted that China is taking a leading role in global 5G
development, predicting its greater role in intelligent connected vehicles and smart transportation. Meanwhile, Cui Chunfeng from China Mobile Research Institute explained that 6G will integrate telecommunications with perception, computation, AI, and security. Although research is still in
early stages worldwide,6G is expected to provide faster speeds and lower latency (延迟), enabling deep integration of physical and virtual worlds.
However, the rapid expansion of 5G brings new cybersecurity (网络安全) challenges. Qi Xiangdong, chairman of Qi-Anxin Technology Group, pointed out that China’s cybersecurity
industry has been growing at 15-20% annually. He stressed the need to strengthen cooperation
with telecom carriers (电信运营商) and increase investment in talent training to address growing security risks.
According to a national digital development plan, China aims to achieve major progress in digital infrastructure and technology innovation by 2025, with a significantly improved digital
economy and effectively interconnected networks.
32 .What is China’s strategy for communication technology development from paragraph 1
A .It prioritizes 5G application over 6G research.
B .It advances both 5G expansion and 6G research at the same time.
C .It has completed 5G construction and now focuses on 6G.
D .It relies on international cooperation for 6G development.
33 .Which statement is true about 6G technology from Cui Chunfeng’s words
A .It has already been widely adopted in Chinese cities.
B .It will function independently without connection to other technologies.
C .It is still in the early research phase worldwide.
D .It will completely replace artificial intelligence.
34.According to Qi Xiangdong, what is necessary to deal with cybersecurity risks brought by 5G
A .Building more 5G base stations. B .Strengthening international cooperation.
C .Enhancing the digital economy. D .Improving providers’ partnership and talent training.
35 .What is the main focus of the passage
A .The challenges facing China’s telecommunications industry
B .The development and application of 5G and future 6G technology in China
C .A comparison between 5G networks in China and other countries
D .The history of digital transformation in Fujian province

Building a happy and healthy relationship takes efforts from both partners. Relationship
experts suggest several key strategies that can help strengthen your connection and create a lasting bond.
36 . Don’t expect your partner to be able to read your mind or “figure it out” on their own. If you have a need or want to express something, you need to communicate it yourself. This means speaking up about both your wants and anything that might be bothering you.
37 When you don’t communicate openly, problems are likely to build up over time.
Listening is just as important as speaking. Develop your listening skills by not interrupting and letting your partner finish their thoughts. Truly listen to understand, rather than planning your response while they are talking. 38 For example, you might say, “Let me make sure I
understand. I hear you saying that you’re upset because …” This kind of response shows your partner that you care about their feelings.
Creating healthy boundaries is another essential element. Boundaries are not meant to make
you feel trapped; they are designed to maintain respect and clarify expectations. If something
makes you uncomfortable, it’s important to bring it up and discuss how things need to change.
39 Whether it’s about time spent together or personal space, finding compromises helps both partners feel valued.
Sometimes life gets busy and you may miss opportunities to connect or discuss important matters. Asking your partner if you’re still on the same page about future plans can prevent
misunderstandings. Ignoring difficult topics is one sure way for a relationship to break down. 40 .
A .Holding in your feelings is unfair to both you and your partner.
B .Make time to discuss and check in.
C .Expressing your want or need to your partner clearly and directly is essential.
D.Use active listening skills by reflecting the content and emotions of what your partner is saying.
E.The goal of boundaries is to respect each other and find compromises that work for both people.
F .Emotional connection helps you understand them.
G .However, clear communication can prevent many relationship problems before they start.

John, a little boy, stood in a grassy field. He held his homemade kite by the string. His face looked very focused as he pulled the kite behind him. He ran as fast as he could. He looked back, hoping to see the kite fly up. But it only bounced and tumbled on the ground, which sent small
pieces of grass flying. Soon he was out of breath. He stopped and let out a deep sigh.
He turned to his sister Lucy, who sat nearby. “Will you give my kite a lift ” he asked. Lucy came over and took the kite from him. “OK, run when I throw it!” she said. John nodded firmly
and got ready to run. Lucy threw the kite high into the air. But John watched her throw and did not run. He stood still for a moment. The kite fell down onto the grass again.
“Ah! How clumsy you are!” Lucy complained, stamping her foot. “It was all your fault.”
John answered back. Just then, their aunt, who was watching from a bench, called out gently, “Try again, children.”
Their second try was made with more care. They worked together, and Lucy let the kite go at exactly the right moment. But just as it caught the wind, a sudden side wind swept across the
field. The kite was blown into a low bush. Its long tail got caught in the branches in an instant. It hung there, upside down like a trapped bird.
“There, there! That is because you threw it to one side.”cried John, pointing angrily. “As if I could make the wind blow straight.” Lucy answered, almost in tears. Their aunt came to help.
She carefully freed the tail from the twigs. She rolled up the string and looked at the disappointed children. “There are too many trees here. Let us find a more open space, and then try again,” she said kindly.

W: Good morning, everyone. I’m your guide for today. We’ve made a change to the trip. I hope none of you will mind. We’re still going to visit the beautiful town of Brampton with its old university. But today, because we have a lot of children here this week, we’re also going to a
wildlife park.
On the way to Brampton, we’ll drive through some beautiful countryside. We’ll go over the
mountain and we’ll have a lovely view of the lake from the top. In the next valley, we’ll have a
break for coffee. There’s a cafe near a beautiful waterfall and if any of you want to go for a walk, you can.
We’ll get to Brampton at about 11:30. We’ll start by taking a guided tour of the university.
There’ll be time for all of you to have a look at the shops. Most people come to Brampton
nowadays for the shops, but it’s the university that made the town famous. If you don’t want to look at the shops, I suggest you visit the museum.
After lunch, we’ll get back and go to the wildlife park. We need to stay in the bus while we drive around because we’ll see lions in the park, which can obviously be dangerous. I’ve never seen
tigers there and I’m afraid they no longer have any monkeys.
Now then, before we get on the bus, if anyone wants to ask any questions I’ll try to answer them.

第四段提到“evidence shows that laws can make a difference”,随后用具体数据说明有反家暴法的国家中少女遭遇暴力的可能性低 40% 。 选项 B 过于绝对;选项 C“alone”与文中“can make a difference” 的程度不符;选项 D“criticize”不是主要目的。

根据第三段崔春风的发言“Although research is still in early stages worldwide”可知,6G 研究在全球范围内仍处于早期阶段。

固定搭配 such... that...
固定搭配 not only... but also...

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting the Student Paper-cutting Exhibition held by our
school. It was truly an eye-opening experience! The exhibition is currently on display in the school gallery until this Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Walking through the gallery, I was amazed by the creativity and skill displayed in each
piece. From intricate dragons to delicate flowers, every artwork told a unique story. What
impressed me most was how students used scissors and paper to bring their imagination to life.
Some pieces even depicted scenes from our daily school life, which felt especially heartwarming.
I strongly recommend this exhibition to all students. It’s a wonderful opportunity to
appreciate traditional Chinese art and support our talented peers. Don’t miss out on this fantastic show!

They soon found a nice grass plot with no trees. John took a deep breath and held the kite firmly. “This time it will fly.” he muttered, more to himself than to anyone else. He started
running, his small feet pounding against the soft grass. Lucy threw the kite into the air. The kite
lifted slightly, dancing in the air for a brief moment. John’s eyes lit up with hope. But then, just as quickly, the wind died down. The kite shook, lost its balance, and dove headfirst into the ground. John stopped running, his shoulders slumping in defeat. He stared at the fallen kite, his lower lip trembling. “It’s no use,” he said quietly, kicking at a clump of grass. “The wind doesn’t want my kite to fly. I will never fly a kite again.”He turned away, fighting back tears of frustration.
“Oh John, you should not give up. But try again,” their aunt encouraged. Their aunt knelt beside him and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. John looked into her kind eyes and saw
something that made him straighten his back—belief. He nodded slowly, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. “One more time,” he whispered. Lucy handed him the kite with a encouraging smile. This time, John didn’t just run; he ran with purpose. He felt the string tug gently as the kite caught the wind. He let out more string, and the kite climbed higher and higher, dancing
gracefully against the blue sky. “It’s flying! It’s really flying!” John shouted, his face beaming with pure joy. As he watched his kite soar, he realized something important—success comes not from never failing, but from never giving up. Sometimes, all it takes is one more try.
