The Journey of Marco Polo
Marco Polo was born in Italy in 1254. At the age of 17, he began an amazing journey to China with his father and uncle. Their trip along the Silk Road lasted over three years, crossing dangerous deserts and high mountains. When they finally arrived in China in 1275, they met Emperor Kublai Khan (忽必烈汗) of the Yuan Dynasty.
During his 17 years in China, Marco Polo learned Chinese and worked for the emperor. He traveled widely and saw many wonderful things that Europeans had never seen before.
