One possible version:
It was my first time spending a whole day alone at home. I felt both excited and nervous.
After finishing my homework, I decided to clean the house to surprise my parents. However, I broke a vase by
accident, and in a panic, I cut my hand. I felt so scared when I saw the blood that I almost cried. Then, I told myself
to calm down. I remembered the first aid skills I learned at school. I rushed to clean the cut and covered it.
Although being alone can be challenging, this day taught me valuable lessons. We must learn to take care of

Do you know Curiosity, the famous Mars rover It travels on the red planet to explore its unknown secrets.
Why do people name this ro ver Curiosity Because curiosity is a powerful part of humans, and it pushes us to
make great progress all the time.
Curiosity comes from our natural human instinct (本能). We are born with it. When we are little babies, we try
to touch and look at everything new. As we grow up, we keep asking “why” and “how” about the world. Scientists
say our brains need to learn new things to grow, so curiosity is a natural need for every person.
Curiosity has clear performances in our daily life. We ask questions in class when we don’t understand
knowledge. We watch small animals and read science books A recent study shows that 80% of middle school
students ask more than eight curious questions every day. These small acts are all signs of curiosity.
Most importantly, curiosity leads to great human progress. Many famous scientists get their ideas from
curiosity. Albert Einstein, a great scientist, once said, “Curiosity is more important than knowledge.” His curiosity
made him make amazing scientific discoveries. Data also shows that 90% of important inventions start with a
curious thought.
In short, curiosity is a valuable gift for humans. It is our natural instinct, shows in daily life, and drives us to
explore the unknown. We should always keep our curiosity, just like the rover, to make the world better.

A study found that getting a smartphone before age 13 may be harmful to young people’s mental (心理的)
health.
Researchers studied over 100,000 people about their phone use. Among those aged 18 to 24, many got their
first smartphone at age 12 or younger. The study showed that these people were more likely to have mental health
problems as adults (成年人), such as feelings of anger or sadness.
One key reason behind these problems may be that they can easily use social media. In fact, 89% of
12-year-old children in the UK own a smartphone, and the average age for getting the first one is now as young as 9.
Also, many children spend long hours on their phones every day. This habit can cause sleep problems and poor
family relationships. Besides, as technology and AI become important parts of life, they create challenges for
face-to-face communication. All of these can affect mental health.
Experts are calling for action to protect young people’s men tal health. They believe parents and teachers
should set rules for phone use and teach children how to use technology safely. It is also important for children to
balance technology use with real-world activities and self-care. This will help build a healthier future for them.
