Look at the beautiful yellow leaves outside the window. They were still green last week! Why do they turn yellow, sometimes even red or orange Let’s find the secret!
Material
3 green leaves Glass cup Spoon Scissors
Filter paper (滤纸) Ethanol Tape Pencil
Step 1. Cut the leaves into small pieces. 2. Mash (捣碎) the pieces with a spoon. 3. Add Ethanol to cover the leaf pieces. 4. Tape the filter paper to the pencil and put the pencil on the cup. 5. Wait for hours and you’ll see the result.
Result Colors climb the filter paper. From bottom to top, they are dark green, light green, yellow and orange. But light green covers most of the filter paper.

I just spent my first Mid-Autumn Festival celebration in China. Exactly a week after arriving in China, I started to miss my home. Memories of past festivals back in Serbia (塞尔维亚) always appeared in my mind.
On the morning of Friday September 13th, almost everyone in the school was very excited. Chinese students told us the importance of the Festival and shared the stories with us. At lunchtime, mooncakes were ready. Then came the night. The full moon appeared: a huge bright ball high above the school. We all looked at it with joy. I listened to Serbian music and danced in the wind, enjoying the moment.
When I returned to my room, I went online out of curiosity. I found the poem Prelude to Water Melody (水调歌头) by Su Dongpo, a famous Chinese poet. The poem showed his true feelings. He missed his family and wondered what time it was at his hometown. So did I. He hoped his family could enjoy the bright moon with him.I also hoped my family was watching the same moon far away.
Although we are far from home, the family is still the most important to our life. Just as Chinese get together with family for the Mid-Autumn Festival, Serbian people also enjoy meeting, sharing food and walking on warm nights.
Thanks to my Chinese friends, their care made me and a crowd of other foreign students experience a wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival. Their kindness also made us feel at home.

36.Scientists from China’s Shanghai Jiao Tong University are developing a robot “guide dog” to help blind people.
The robot dog is about the size of an English bulldog but a little wider. It has six legs instead of four. The extra (额外的) legs make it more stable (稳定的) and help it move faster.
The robot is being tested in Shanghai. With the help of cameras and AI, the robot dog can see, listen and speak with blind people, so they will not be lonely. Second, it can recognize traffic lights to keep their outdoor trips safe, which real guide dogs can’t do. Third, it is easy to control with a stick, making it convenient for blind people to use.
Li Fei and Zhu Sibin are helping test the robot. Li is totally blind and Zhu can only see a little. Zhu often uses a stick to move around. “The robot dog will make it easier to get into public places than with real guide dogs. I am happy to join in the test. Our lives will become more convenient and comfortable because of the robot dogs in the near future,” Li said.
In China, there are about 17.31 million blind people, but there are only about 400 guide dogs.
