Can one small action make life easier for others I still remember the day when I saw a woman in a wheelchair trying hard to open a heavy door. She pushed it again and again, but it still would not open. She looked worried, so I quickly went over to help her. At that moment,
I realized that many everyday places were not as friendly as I had thought.
From then on, I started to notice my city differently. Some buildings had high steps, and some doors were too narrow for wheelchair users. I kept asking myself what I could do to help. Then an idea came into my mind: if people could know whether a place was easy to enter before they went there, life might become easier for them.
Turning this idea into reality was not easy. Because I knew little about technology, I asked some experts for help. We worked together for months, and sometimes I felt tired. But whenever I thought of the woman who had trouble with the door, I told myself not to give up.
In the end, we created Ability App, which helps users know whether a place is easy to enter. Soon, more people began to use it and share their own experiences. Some local shop owners also started to think more about steps, doors, and other problems at their entrances. Through this experience, I learned that one small action may not solve every problem, but it can help start a bigger change.

19. What does the underlined word “them” in Paragraph 3 refer to
A. the experts B. the buildings C. wheelchair users D. the writer’s friends
20. Which words can best describe the writer
A. Quiet and honest. B. Careless and lazy. C. Funny and careful. D. Kind and creative.
21. What does the passage mainly want to tell us
A. Technology makes city life easier for everyone.
B. Experts can help people solve many problems.
C. Disabled people need more help in public places.
D. A small action can be the start of a bigger change.

①One of the world’s most difficult races takes place in Antarctica. Before joining in the race, you must sail across rough and dangerous seas for a long time. You also have to face freezing cold weather and strong winds every day. This special race tests not only your body but also your mind. It requires careful planning, enough preparation and a strong will to get over all kinds of difficulties.
②On the race day, many cute and curious penguins came up to us when we stood on the icy shore. We walked quickly to the bag-drop area one by one. Our bags and food were kept safe with big plastic sheets and heavy rocks. The race organizers allowed only 100 people on the landing sites at a time, and they worked closely with scientific research bases there.
③When the race started, we were full of energy after the tiring long trip at sea. We cheered for each other warmly as runners and supporters. The land was very rough, and there were only a few small buildings near the landing sites and research bases. The first part of the race went along rocky roads to a small airport and then to the Great Wall Station. The return way was much windier and harder, but it made us help and support each other more.
④After one lap (圈), my legs almost couldn’t move and my whole body ached badly. We ran too fast at first, but I still had five more laps to finish. I saw other runners on the narrow course and heard their heavy breathing. My gloves got wet and my feet hurt a lot when running downhill. I kept running step by step and never gave up. Finally, I finished the whole marathon with tears in my eyes.
⑤At that moment, I truly understood the fun of exploration. I felt so excited that I hoped to have more wonderful adventures and explore more beautiful places in the future.
22. What were the big plastic sheets used for
A. A tent for runners to rest. B. A sign for the start line.
C. A place to keep bags and food. D. A wall to keep out the wind.
23. Which is the right order of the race
A. B.
C. D.
24. Which of the following shows the structure of the passage
A. ①/②③④⑤ B. ①/②③④/⑤ C. ①②/③④⑤ D. ①/②③/④⑤
