Text 1
M: Why did you choose to rent downtown
W: I know it is very expensive and small, but it is really close to my company. I can even sleep in a bit more.
M: Totally worth it then.
Text 2
M: Have you seen the new science experiment video our teacher posted on the class website
W: Yes, I watched it this morning. It was really interesting about how plants grow towards light.
Text 3
W: Tim, do you have an extra pencil I asked Jane, but she only has one and she’s using it.
M: You can check Tom’s desk. He has plenty of pencils, and he is on leave today.
Text 4
W: How do we get to Mary’s house
M: The bus will take ages. Let’s take the subway. It’s just five stops on the Red Line.
W: But the Red Line has been closed. I think we should take a taxi instead.
Text 5
M: Look at this picture I found online! A big machine is helping farmers pick apples on the hill.
W: Wow, that’s cool! Is it a robot
M: Yes, it saves a lot of time and doesn’t get tired.
W: That’s really helpful for them.
Text 6
M: Look at all these books! I need to find something for my science homework.
W: Me, too. I’m looking for a book on plants.
M: There are so many shelves here. Do you know where the librarian is
W: She is usually at the desk near the door. Let’s go and ask her.
M: Good idea. I hope she can help us find the right ones quickly.
Text 7
W: I packed a sandwich and some chicken in your backpack.
M: You’re the best aunt ever. I wish you could stay with us more often.
W: I hope so. I’ve really enjoyed these days, especially helping you do homework. But it is my last day here. After
your mom gets home, we can go out for dinner.
M: But you said you would leave tomorrow
W: Actually, I’m leaving tonight after dinner. I have booked a flight tonight.
M: Oh, I thought you were staying until tomorrow morning.
W: No. I know a great restaurant. We can eat there and then buy some clothes before the flight.
M: OK. I will miss you very much.
Text 8
M: Wow, I didn’t expect the weather here to be so hot. I thought Minnesota was supposed to be a little colder.
W: Well, it is cold in winter. But during summer, it can get as warm as states like Washington and Oregon.
M: What do people in Minnesota do in summer
W: Local people take full advantage of the short but pleasant summer. Some like hiking and biking. But my
favorite summer activity is water sport. I love being on the water.
M: Me, too! Being from California, I like to go to the beach with my family in summer! But I can’t handle the cold.
How about you
W: I guess I’m used to it. I was born and raised in Minnesota. Although winters are cold, we still engage in outdoor
activities to have fun.
Text 9
W: Look at all these colorful flowers in the garden! Who takes care of them
M: My sister, Kate. She spends a lot of time on them every day.
W: How did she get interested in gardening
M: Well, about three years ago, she joined a gardening club at school. The club leader showed them different kinds
of flowers and told them how to grow them well. After that, my sister was attracted.
W: Do these flowers attract bees and butterflies
M: Definitely. You can often see bees flying around and butterflies landing on the flowers. My sister says it’s a sign
that the flowers are healthy.
W: That’s really nice. Does she share her gardening knowledge with others
M: Yes, she does. She often gives advice to our neighbors on how to grow flowers. And she also makes small
flower-pots as gifts for her friends. Let’s go to the entrance, and I’ll get you a cup of tea made from the flowers in
the garden.
W: That would be lovely!

W: My name is Sarah Williams, and I’m the author of The Manimal Tales, a children’s book. I started writing
the book about a year ago when my son developed a love for literature. I wanted to create some great stories that
give children new ideas about life. At the same time, I wanted the book to be enjoyable for both kids and their
parents. The Manimal Tales features interesting animals living in a forest, where they often experience exciting and
sometimes dangerous adventures. Through these experiences, they always find solutions and learn valuable lessons.
Each character has a unique personality and fun name. You can download the digital version online. I hope
everyone will enjoy this book and give me valuable advice. If you’re interested, feel free to contact me for more

My Campus Hero
The person I admire most is my classmate Zhang Wei, who has made a big difference to our class.
Noticing some classmates struggled with English vocabulary, he created a “Word Wall” on the wall, updating
it daily with interesting examples. Additionally, he organized free tutoring sessions during breaks, patiently
explaining confusing points.
His efforts have significantly improved our class’s English performance. More importantly, his selfless action
has inspired us to help others voluntarily. From him, I realized that small acts of kindness can spark positive
changes. I’m encouraged to contribute to our campus too.

But when the teacher walked into the classroom, she was holding Tessa’s paper. She held it up for everyone to
see, a big smile on her face. “Look at this wonderful work!” she said loudly. “Tessa knew every plant’s name, even
the smallest details. This is amazing!” All the students leaned forward, their eyes wide with surprise. Then someone
started clapping. Soon the whole class joined in, their hands coming together. Tessa felt her face burning, her eyes
fixed on her desk.
The students’ reaction gave her a great deal of confidence. For the first time, she felt truly seen — not for
her mouth, but for what she knew and could do. After that day, she began to change. She raised her hand in class,
her voice shaky at first but growing stronger. She talked to her classmates during breaks, finding them kind and
curious. More of her good sides came out, surprising everyone, including herself. Slowly, she came to understand
that a person’s worth cannot be judged by appearance alone.5月份高一年级学情调研

Last month, I had a big misunderstanding with my deskmate, Lucy, which made me truly understand the unit
theme “Knowing Me, Knowing You” and the importance of sincere communication. Lucy and I were good friends
who shared everything, and we often talked about our strengths and weaknesses to know each other better — until
a math group project changed everything.
I was responsible for writing the project report, and Lucy was in charge of making the PPT. We agreed to
finish our parts before Friday, but when I asked her for the PPT on Thursday evening, she said she hadn’t finished
it yet. I was so angry that I shouted at her, saying she was lazy and didn’t care about our project. I thought she just
wanted to play instead of working, so I refused to listen to her explanation and didn’t talk to her for a week.
During that week, I found Lucy was always sad and even cried alone in the classroom. I felt a little guilty (内
疚的) but was too proud to apologize (道歉). Finally, our math teacher told me the truth: Lucy’s mother was ill,
and she had to take care of her after school every day. She even stayed up late to make the PPT and only didn’t
finish it because she was too tired. She was afraid to tell me for fear of troubling me.
I felt extremely ashamed of myself. I ran to Lucy and apologized to her sincerely, telling her I should have
listened to her first. She hugged me and forgave me at once. We finished the project together, and our friendship
became even stronger. This experience let me know that “Knowing Me, Knowing You” is not just a sentence, but
means listening, trusting and understanding each other in real life.
24. What was the author’s first reaction when Lucy hadn’t finished the PPT
A. He offered to help Lucy immediately.
B. He complained to their math teacher.
C. He decided to finish the PPT by himself.
D. He shouted at Lucy and stopped talking to her.
25. Why did Lucy fail to finish the PPT on time according to the math teacher
A. She had to care for her sick mother.
B. She forgot about the deadline completely.
C. She was too lazy to work on the project.
D. She wanted to play instead of doing the project.
26. Which of the following can best describe the author’s feeling after learning the truth
A. Angry and disappointed. B. Proud and satisfied.
C. Ashamed and regretful. D. Indifferent and calm.
27. What does the author mainly want to express through the text
A. The difficulty of getting along with deskmates.
B. The necessity of finishing school projects on time.
C. The importance of sharing everything with friends.
D. The value of sincere communication and shared understanding.

In recent years, the world has seen a growing interest in green technology as a way to fight climate change.
One promising development is the rise of solar-powered devices, which use sunlight to generate electricity without
producing harmful emissions.
Solar energy is not a new idea, but recent advances in technology have made it more efficient and affordable.
Modern solar panels (太阳能板) can change up to 25% of sunlight into electricity, compared to just 15% a decade
ago. This has made solar power a viable choice for both households and businesses.
One of the biggest advantages of solar energy is its sustainability (可持续性). Unlike fossil fuels, which are
finite and will eventually run out, sunlight is a renewable resource that will be available for billions of years. Solar
power doesn’t generate greenhouse gases when it’s being used, so it’s a clean choice compared to coal and natural
gas.
However, there are still challenges to overcome. The initial cost of installing (安装) solar panels can be high,
and solar energy production depends on weather conditions. In addition, if not handled correctly, making and
getting rid of solar panels can harm the environment.
Despite these challenges, many countries are investing heavily in solar energy. China, for example, is the
world’s largest producer of solar panels and has set ambitious goals to increase its use of renewable energy. By
2030, China aims to have solar power account for 20% of its total electricity generation.
As technology continues to improve and costs continue to fall, solar energy will probably become more and
more important in the world’s shift to a future with low carbon emissions.
28. What does the underlined word “viable” in paragraph 2 probably mean
A. Unreliable. B. Expensive. C. Risky. D. Practical.
29. What is one of the challenges solar energy faces
A. It produces too much greenhouse gas. B. It is not available in many countries.
C. It has a high initial installation cost. D. It is less efficient than fossil fuels.
30. What can we infer about China’s attitude towards solar energy
A. China has stopped producing fossil fuels.
B. China is uncertain about the future of solar power.
C. China is taking active steps to promote solar energy.
D. China relies heavily on solar power for electricity.
31. What is the best title for the text
A. The Future of Solar Energy B. Climate Change and Its Solutions
C. China’s Renewable Energy Goals D. How to Install Solar Panels at Home
D
Every year, the world loses millions of trees to deforestation, wildfires and other causes. Replanting forests is
a challenging task. Recently, scientists and environmentalists have begun using drones (无人机 ) to plant trees,
hoping to restore forests more quickly and efficiently.
Traditional tree planting includes growing seedlings in a nursery and then planting them by hand. This process
is effective but slow, especially in remote or hard-to-reach areas. In contrast, drone planting uses flying machines to
drop seed pods (种子荚) directly onto the land. Before planting, teams study detailed maps to choose where and
how many seeds to puter programs help choose the best places and ways to plant, so there is no need to
grow young trees in a nursery first. Then drones fly over the area, dropping hundreds of seed pods every minute.
One drone can spread seeds 100 times faster than a person, covering a lot of ground quickly.
The benefits of drone planting are easy to see. First, drones can go to places where people cannot go safely,
like high hills or damaged forests. Second, drone planting saves time and labor. A single drone operator can do the
work of many people, allowing reforestation teams to cover more ground with fewer resources. In addition, the
seeds can be coated in nutrients and natural fertilizers (肥料 ), which gives them a better chance to grow into
healthy trees.
Early results from drone reforestation projects are promising. In Brazil, drones have been used to replant
mangrove forests, and in Canada a start-up called Flash Forest has planted millions of trees using drones. Of course,
not all seeds will survive — reforestation still faces challenges like weather and soil conditions. But many experts
stand up for it. They believe that with improvements in technology, drone planting could become a powerful
weapon in the fight against deforestation.
32. Which of the following best describes traditional tree planting
A. Time-consuming. B. Short-lived.
C. Environment-friendly. D. Technology-free.
33. What is one challenge mentioned for drone reforestation projects
A. High labor costs in remote areas.
B. Lack of support from local governments.
C. Low survival rates of certain seeds.
D. Difficulty in transporting drones to forests.
34. What is the author’s attitude towards drone planting
A. Negative. B. Supportive. C. Doubtful. D. Unclear.
35. What is the main purpose of the text
A. To explain why forests are disappearing.
B. To introduce a new method of planting trees.
C. To compare traditional planting with drone planting.
D. To describe the difficulty of planting in remote areas.

第二节(满分 25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Tessa never spoke unless she had to. Every time she opened her mouth, people would stare at her mouth. She
had heard the whispers — “like a frog” — and learned to keep quiet, feeling extremely bad about her appearance.
She spent her days hiding in corners: the back of the classroom, the farthest table in the library, the bench (长
椅) behind the gym. She carried a book everywhere, holding it close like a shelter. But it was not a textbook. It was
field guides, filled with leaves and flowers, their names and secrets. She knew every plant around the school,
though no one knew she did.
One afternoon in biology class, Ms Taylor announced a project. Each student had to collect different plants,
press them, and put them on paper with descriptions.
Her classmates were not happy about it. Tessa said nothing, but something woke up inside her quiet heart.
After school, she walked to the woods behind the football field, walking slowly with her eyes on the ground.
She found a lovely branch of yarrow (蓍草), a heart-shaped violet leaf, and a soft lamb’s ear leaf, picking each one
carefully. By the playground, she discovered a tiny plot of moss, no bigger than her finger. On her way back, she
picked a maple leaf still holding its autumn red.
Back home, she pressed them between the pages of an old dictionary. Three days later, she took them out,
finding them flat and perfect. She arranged them on a white paper, leaving space for each one. Then she began to
write. Her handwriting was small and steady, each letter formed with care. Under each plant, she put the common
name, the scientific name, where she found it, and a small detail only she would have noticed.
She finished late at night. The next morning, she slipped her work into all students’ homework, saying nothing.
She returned to her seat, opening a book as usual. She expected nothing. She never did.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为 150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
But when the teacher walked into the classroom, she was holding Tessa’s paper.
The students’ reaction gave her a great deal of confidence.
