New research shows that AI tools like ChatGPT might make our ideas less original (独特的). In 2024, scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology did an e 51 with over 50 university students. They asked the students to write essays on questions like “Must our achievements benefit others in order to make us truly happy ” Some students could only rely on their own brains, others could s 52 online resources, while some were allowed to use ChatGPT. The results showed that those ChatGPT users showed less brain activity than either of the other groups. They gave nearly the same answers and 80% couldn’t remember the details in their essays.

Over time, this makes their work less original.
AI tools can bring convenience, but they can also gradually w 56 people’s ability to think independently and their unique expression if we rely on them too heavily. Use AI w 57 rather than letting it take the place of our own thoughts. Only by keeping our own thinking alive can we make AI a helpful tool rather than a barrier to our original ideas.
