I once ran the first leg of 4×100-metre relay race at our spring sports meeting.It was exciting and unforgettable.
Standing on the starting line and waiting for the starting gun,I could almost hear my own heart beating.Then the gun sounded,and I almost blocked out everything else.To this day,I don’t remember how I
finished my leg of the race.Only when I passed the baton to the second runner did I hear the wild cheering and shouting.Caught up in the excitement,I cheered so hard that I thought my lungs would burst.The crowd rose to their feet and their cheering became even louder.
