A young family with no camping experience has sold everything to tour Europe in a motorhome. Chery l,33,

Since their eldest daughter Flora would soon start school, the couple decided to take a family adventure. Chery

and set off in August.
Though anxious at first and faced with occasional quarrels, Cheryl thinks the trip has strengthened family
bonds. She said, “If we have an argument there is nowhere to hide. It has to be dealt with there and then, and it has

Adaptation and innovation (创新 ) of traditional opera is a major trend in modern Chinese opera circle. As
times change, traditional opera has gradually lost its elderly audience and failed to appeal to young people. To
attract the new generation, the opera circle is working to create update d works.
Facing an aging audience, Peking Opera has adopted modern sound, light and digital stage effects to attract
young people in creative ways.
The centuries-old Tianleyuan Theater in Beijing now presents fashionable Peking Opera performances. It
combines music, vocal skills, mime, dance and acrobatics. With special art experience sections and new shows, the
theater has attracted over 2,000 audience numbers, mostly young people, according to theater staff.
“Good art should keep pace with the times, so does jingju,” said Zhang Zishang, a 22-year-old performer in
Tianleyuan, who has 10 years of stage experience. “Innovation is good, but we must also carry on the basic
elements of jingju,” another young performer Deng said.
According to Deng, innovation is perhaps the best way for jingju to deal with the problem of an aging
audience. It has made successful attempts to combine jingju with local opera forms such as ballet when organizing
performances abroad. “Innovation can help traditional arts go further. We are happy to see many young faces, and
some of them even come twice to experience the ‘new’ art,” she added.

A. To run after fashion. B. To draw the young audience.
C. To improve digital stage effect. D. To change the traditional opera circle.

D. It keeps all old performing rules strictly.
30. How does Deng feel about the innovation of jingju
A. Favourable. B. Unreliable. C. Worthless. D. Conservative.
31. What is the main idea of the text
A. Classic jingju plays are popular among elderly people.

Each year, an estimated 53,000 tourists visit Antarctica, and each may unintentionally contribute to the
melting of 83 tons of snow, according to a new study in Nature Communications.
The culprit is black carbon, created by burning fossil fuels (化石燃料 ) and biomass. It settles on snow,
darkening its surface. This increases the absorption of solar heat and quickens melting.
Due to its remoteness, Antarctica naturally has little black carbon pollution. However, the new study shows
black carbon from local tourism and research activities has greatly affected its icy environment.
The international research team measured black carbon concentrations of snow from 28 sites across the
northern Antarctic Peninsula. It turned out that black carbon concentration was far thicker around research bases
and tourist ship landing spots than at remote areas.
The study estimates (估计 ) that in heavily impacted zones, black carbon cuts snowpack by 23 millimeters
yearly. Overall, tourism-related black carbon alone leads to 4.4 megatons of extra snow melting each summer,
equal to 83 tons per visitor. Although these figures are striking, the real impact could be more complex than what
the data suggest.
The paper argues that local emissions (排放物) from research stations and tourist site s are likely the main
source of the pollution. Ships, aircraft, generators (发电机) and trucks all release black carbon. The authors suggest
tourist cruises and fuel-powered equipment at research stations are the top polluters in the study area, even though
measures like new fuel and deep cycle battery power have been adopted to ease tourism’s environmental footprint.
“Our results prove that far more remains to be done to reduce the impact of Antarctic tourism and ships,” the
authors write.
32. What does the underlined word “culprit” in paragraph 2 mean
A. Harmful gas. B. Main cause. C. Useful energy. D. Unexpected result.
33. How is black carbon produced in Antarctica
A. By winds blowing in from north. B. By volcanic activities under the ice.
C. By fuel use in tourism and research. D. By natural changes in temperature.
34. What do the figures in paragraph 5 most likely imply
A. The impacts of human activities may be underestimated.
B. The snowpack melting problem is greatly overstated.
C. Antarctica tourism should be banned for a good cause.
D. Every visitor is to blame for the melting snow.
35. What do the study authors think of current environmental efforts in Antarctica
A. They are a drop in the ocean. B. They paint a rosy picture.
C. They boost Antarctica tourism. D. They still show limited effect.
第二节(共 5小题;每小题 2分,满分 10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Everyone has been there — completely drained (精疲力竭 ) after too much social interaction. Constant
engagement can leave you feeling tired and in need of recharging your social battery (电池). 36 In fact,
this experience has roots in psychology and most people face such kind of trouble. Let’s dive into a few ways to
refuel and regain your balance.
Alone time now and then allows your brain to process recent social experiences without the constant demand
for interaction. 37 This could mean sitting quietly, sipping tea, or simply letting your mind wander. These
moments of solitude (独处) act like plugging your phone into a charger (充电器) — they refuel you for what’s
ahead.
Journaling helps you process emotions and gain clarity on what’s draining your social battery. Putting your
feelings into words can reduce stress and improve mental health. Start with a single question like “What’s been
weighing on me lately ” Let the words flow naturally. 38
Endless scrolling (滚动) on social media or watching video s might seem like easy fixes, but they often drain
you more. 39 Instead of mindlessly scrolling, set intentional screen-free hours each day. Use this time to
engage with the physical world, whether that’s preparing a meal, organizing your space, or simply enjoying the
quiet.
40 Staying in natural environment with fresh air improves mood. This connection between movement
and mental health is supported by studies in environmental psychology, which highlight how green spaces
positively impact our well-being. Even a 15-minute walk through a park or in the wild can shift your mood and
mindset.
A. If you’re wondering how to do that, you’re not alone.
B. A good rest is an effective way to recharge your social battery.
C. Spare 30 minutes for yourself every day, free from distractions.
D. Think about what you’ve wanted to try but never made time for.
E. Reconnecting with nature can work wonders for your social battery.
F. This act of self-reflection helps you identify what you need to recharge.
G. Social comparison, fueled by social media, can make you feel more anxious.

I loved exploring forests, observing plants, and listening to the chirping of birds with Jimmy, my little brother.
Mom was always there with her camera, capturing each wonderful moment. These photos were arranged in an
album. It held the sweet memories of my family, and I was never bored with opening it, as it always filled me with
warmth. Life was simple until I asked for a new electronic game for my birthday. I was well-behaved, so my
parents fulfilled my wish. But then everything changed.
The game was so amazing. As soon as I switched on the device, my ears stopped hearing external sounds. My
back ached, but I couldn’t stop.
“Davey, wanna go out and play ” asked Jimmy, holding the ball.
“No, thanks,” I refused, without a second thought.
“But all our friends are waiting! You’ve been staying here every day playing that game,” Jimmy urged. I
finally tore my eyes away, my voice sharp. “Can’t you see I’m busy Go play without me!” With that, Jimmy
stormed out, his face reddened with anger.
Outside in the forest, the kids played ball and hide-and-seek, having loads of fun, while I spent the whole
afternoon in the sofa, absorbed in the game until it was dark. It was days before I realized I hadn’t seen Jimmy
around.
Each day brought a fresh battle. I resisted, but finally gave in. My fingers danced across the buttons as hours
slipped by. Around 9 PM, Mom came and placed a glass of milk beside me. “Time for bed,” she whispered. I saw
her worries — how could I not But click-clack noise covered Mom’s voice. When the final boss fell, my eyes
burned. Walking half-asleep towards the bed, I noticed a photo album on the bedside table. The w om cover
brought back memories.

读后续写
Absorbed in the photos, I didn’t notice Mom standing beside me. She bent down and joined me.
Pointing at a photo of Jimmy and me in the forest, both covered in mud, she whispered, “Remember
how happy you were out there ” Guilt washed over me as I realized how much I missed those days
with Jimmy. That night, I lay awake, thinking about everything I’d passed by while glued to the
screen. I made a decision.
Early next morning, ball in hand, I knocked on Jimmy’s door. His sleepy eyes widened in
surprise. “Want to play outside ” I asked. Jimmy nodded happily. We rushed to the woods, laughter
echoing among the trees; we played ball in the open field, shouts mixing with bird chirps; we lay flat
on the grass, clouds painting our dreams with ease. I suddenly felt a recovered sense of peace, a
1
feeling brought not by the silly screen, but the company of loved ones.

Most young people like to enjoy playing on their smartphones in their spare time. But Li Ruxue is
different. He often does some research in a forest and isolates himself from the outside world. In his
college years, Li actively took part in field research with his teachers. After graduation, he joined a
gibbon protection organization, where one of his major responsibilities was picking up gibbon feces.
Through analyzing the DNA from the feces, researchers can protect them better. So over the past
four and a half years, Li has followed gibbons and collected their feces for researchers. Though the
work is a bit tiring, it’s meaningful for him. He has never regretted his choice or felt alone. Like Li,
Chu Wenwen has also worked to protect animals. As her father is engaged in wildlife research, Chu
has long been surrounded by wild animals. After graduating from university in 2017, she decided to
follow in her father’s footsteps. She thinks she is lucky to live in such a great era when young people
can fulfill their aspirations, and the country strongly supports the nature conservation. Both Li Ruxue
and Chu Wenwen set an example to our young generation. We should do our part like them and take
part in the action of protecting animals.
