Floods are common natural disasters. They can cause serious damage to homes and crops, and pose a threat to human lives. Many countries take all kinds of measures to prevent floods based on their specific conditions.
The Three Gorges Dam plays a crucial role in preventing floods in China. This dam is located on the Changjiang River and helps control the flow of water during heavy rains. The dam acts as a barrier to hold back excess water and releases it slowly and safely. This makes sure that the areas nearby are protected from the floods. By controlling the water levels, the dam keeps people safe.
