.第一段明确说明“You can help kids read books, organize books on the shelves, or help with library events.”,因此在当地图书馆可以做的事是帮助孩子读书。
.第四段提到“You can give away your old clothes, toys, or books to people in need.”,是对“donate”的解释,即把旧物品送给有需要的人,因此该词的中文意思是“捐赠”。
.原文提到图书馆志愿活动是“a great way to meet new people and share your love of reading”,并非无聊,D表述错误。
.文章首句“Do you want to help others but don't know how Here are some easy ways to help out in your community.”

.由第二段“Growing up as an orphan raised by those around her, Gexi Wangmu had always wanted to give back to society”可知,她从小被周围的人养大,一直想回报社会,因此她的成长经历促使她决定照顾老人。
.由第三段“They had no children, and I had no parents, so we kept each other company”可知,老人没有孩子,她没有父母,所以他们相互陪伴。“kept each other company”意为“彼此陪伴、相互依赖”,与“depended on”(依靠)在情感上最为接近。
.由第五段“NPC deputies are a bridge between the country and the people”以及“bring the difficult situations of the people... into public attention”可知,人大代表是国家和人民之间的桥梁,为人民发声。
.全文讲述了格西王姆从18岁起在养老院照顾老人的事迹,以及她当选人大代表后继续为人民发声的故事,作者写这篇文章是为了赞扬和支持她所做的贡献。
