Can a pineapple eat you Don’t be afraid. This question doesn’t mean a pineapple wants to eat you like an animal. But believe it or not, a pineapple can “eat” a little bit of you.
How does that work When you eat food, your stomach breaks it down into smaller pieces. In a similar way, pineapples can break down parts of your body’s cells. Why Because pineapples have special enzymes (酶) that break down proteins (蛋白质).
To understand this, imagine a protein as a pearl necklace Many small pearls come together to form the long necklace. Now, if you cut the necklace with a pair of scissors, it falls apart. The enzymes in pineapples work just like those scissors—they “cut up” proteins.
All living things are made of proteins. Proteins are an important part of the cells in your body. When you eat a pineapple, its enzymes break the cells in your mouth. That’s why your mouth may hurt if you eat too much pineapple. Luckily, the cells in your mouth heal (愈合) fast. And once the pineapple reaches your stomach, its enzymes are broken down. So it won’t “eat” you anymore.
▲ In fact, young pineapples have stronger enzymes than fully-grown ones. Some scientists believe the plant uses these enzymes to stop animals from eating its unripe fruit. Once the fruit is fully grown, its enzymes become weaker, and the fruit is safe to eat.
Another explanation is that the enzymes help the pineapple grow. They send messages to the plant’s cells, telling them when to start or stop growing. Without these enzymes, the seed may not develop properly.
26.Which of the following may play a key role in eating you while you eat pineapples
A.A pair of scissors. B.A group of cells.
C.A kind of enzyme. D.A kind of protein.
27.How does the writer explain the function of the enzymes in paragraph 3
A.By listing numbers. B.By raising a question.
C.By telling a story. D.By giving an example.
28.Which of the following can be put in ▲
A.Why do pineapples have these enzymes B.Do enzymes help pineapples to grow
C.How long does it take the cells in your mouth to heal D.Are there other fruits that can eat you
29.What’s the meaning of the underlined word “unripe”
A.Not safe to eat. B.Not completely grown.
C.Not sweet enough. D.Not ready to be picked.
30.What’s the main purpose of the text
A.To offer a wide choice of healthy fruits. B.To introduce different kinds of enzymes.
C.To tell some useful facts about pineapples. D.To explain why we should avoid eating pineapples.

For centuries, machines have been replacing human work for a long time. Today, with fast-developing AI, this process is speeding up and may therefore lead to more job losses.
A 2023 Goldman Sachs report says AI could automate around 25% of current work, threatening (威胁) about 300 million jobs in Europe and the U.S. Martin Ford, writer of Rule of the Robots, warns that this brings challenges to both workers and companies.
But experts point out that AI still has limits. Jobs that need emotional intelligence, real creativity and complex physical skills are much safer. In fact, Ford names three types of jobs AI can hardly replace: creative workers who come up with new ideas; jobs that need close human contact, such as nurses; and practical skilled jobs, such as barbers.
To protect your job from AI replacement, you should choose flexible work with constantly changing tasks that machines find difficult to perform.

changes(三单)、change(原形)均不符合语境。
in(接大地点)、on(接表面)均不符合用法。
A(接辅音音素开头的单词)、The(表特指)均不符合用法。
were chosen(一般过去时)、are choosing(主动语态)均不符合语境。
hard(原级)、hardest(最高级)均不符合要求。
he(主格)、his(物主代词)均不符合用法。

后文“Even their husbands had no idea”直接印证这是“秘密”;report“报告”、question“问题”、mistake“错误”均与“丈夫不知情”的语境无关。
consider sb. sth.
pay for sth.

29.第五段“In fact, young pineapples have stronger enzymes than fully-grown ones. Some scientists believe the plant uses these enzymes to stop animals from eating its unripe fruit.”

My thoughts on AI
I’m Li Hua. Nowadays, AI is playing an increasingly important role in our daily life.
On the one hand, AI is extremely beneficial. It can help people finish dangerous tasks and improve our study and work efficiency greatly.
On the other hand, it also causes some problems. Some people may lose their jobs. Besides, depending too much on it will make us lose the ability to think independently.
In my opinion, we should make good use of AI. Only in this way can we benefit from it better.

确定人称: 第一人称(I/my/we)。
使用连接词On the one hand开启论述。
使用连接词On the other hand进行转折。

效率提升: improve our study and work efficiency greatly(极大提高学习和工作效率)—— 体现AI的实用价值。
个人能力: depending too much on it(过度依赖它,动名词作主语)
lose the ability to think independently(丧失独立思考能力)。
核心态度: make good use of AI(善用AI)。
