The weather gets warm and everything comes back to life. The cycling season begins. Riding a bike can be a lot of fun, but bike accidents can be pretty serious if you' re not careful. It's important that all the young riders should follow bicycle safety tips while riding bikes.
Of course the suitable equipment(合适的装备) is the most important. Wearing a helmet(头盔) is the first basic safety rule of bike riding. A helmet will protect you from a head injury. Remember that light and bright colours are the best, and all the teenagers should choose the helmets that fit themselves well, especially children under the age of ten. Gloves will make you feel more comfortable during riding. And they will protect the riders’ hands when falling. It is necessary to wear bright lothes, so all road users can see you.
Except the equipment, you should make sure you' re always looking ahead on the road. When you' re riding on the road, it's important to use hand signals(信号) to let others know whether you' re turning, slowing down or stopping. When you cross the street, you should get off and walk your bicycle.
All in all, safety is the first thing to consider when riding.

①Technology makes our lives easier. But do you know how it helps save lives faster in first aid People who have sudden health emergencies(突发卫生事件) like heart disease or accidents may only have a few minutes to live unless they get help. We can use technology to offer help in time. Let's look at some technological inventions that are helping save lives.
②Smart apps
Some people in the US made an app called PulsePoint. It invites common people trained in CPR(心肺复苏术) to use it. The app knows the users' locations. If someone needs first aid nearby, a user will get a message asking them to help.
③Magic gel(凝胶)
The gel, which is made from plants, can stop someone bleeding in just 10 seconds. It can stick to a wound and help cover it. The gel was invented more than 10 years ago but was only allowed to be used on animals. Now in the US, it has been allowed to be used on humans too. It's amazing that such a useful thing was invented by an American boy aged 17!
④Flying aids
If people get injured and need help in hard- to- reach areas, drones(无人机) can be of great use. Drones can often offer help faster than people because they can fly. And they can also make helping people safer for rescuers(营救者) working in dangerous conditions. With cameras inside, the drones can watch people's health easily. They can also carry useful things, like a life jacket to save someone from drowning(溺水).

We usually go to see a doctor when we are ill. Doctors may give us some medicine, and the medicine often makes us feel better.
But sometimes the doctor's medicine doesn't work. This happened to one man, Thomas Smith. He was ill in hospital, but he wasn't getting well. Then he found a new“doctor” inside himself. He saw funny films. He read funny books. And something wonderful happened. Laughing took away his pain after half a year. He could have a good night's rest. His own happy feeling helped him get well again. He wrote his story in his book. He said laughing was very useful. It was the best“medicine”.
Another man, Simon Beck, was also ill, and he had a serious pain in his back. The doctor couldn't stop it, so the man began to“picture” his pain. In his head he“drew” a picture of a dog. He imagined it to be a real dog. And it was hurting him. Then the man talked softly to the dog. He put his hand on the dog's head and made friends with it. One year later, his pain went away!
These stories may surprise you, but more and more people are getting well in this way. So call on the“doctor” inside your mind, and keep happy and well!
