Pre-listening Teach key phrases from the conversation: exercise with the elderly, play Chinese chess, teach them to use a mobile phone, care for the elderly. Use pictures and simple definitions to help students understand the meaning and usage. Step 3. While-listening Activity 3a: Read the Conversation Have students read the conversation between Teng Fei and Ella. Answer the questions: "Where does Teng Fei volunteer Who does he help " Activity 3b: Complete the Table Have students re-read the conversation and complete the table with key information. Step 4. Post-listening Activity 3c: Role-play the Conversation Have students work in pairs to role-play the conversation between Teng Fei and Ella.
