“He Hua Shen” was a very popular show at the 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala. It had twelve performers. Each of them played a goddess. In Chinese tradition, there is a goddess for the flower of each month. This custom has been popular for hundreds of years.
What made the show special was its mix of traditional culture and modern technology. The clothes the performers wore were in classic Chinese styles. They were made with special fabrics and patterns from old cultural relics (文物). For example, Li Qin played the Goddess of Osmanthus (桂花). She wore a beautiful Song-style dress. Qin Lan was the Goddess of Peach Blossoms. Her look was soft and lovely, just like peach flowers.

Then everyone looked in and pulled the coats apart, and what they all saw was a perfectly common wardrobe. There was no forest and no snow, only the back of the wardrobe with hooks on it.

Long ago, there was a king who married a new woman each night and had her killed the next morning. Then a brave woman named Scheherazade volunteered to marry him. Each evening, she told him an interesting story but stopped at the most exciting part. The king wanted to hear the end, so he let her live. Night after night, she told stories for 1,001 nights. Finally, the king fell in love with her and gave up his cruel plan.
This old story from One Thousand and One Nights shows us how powerful storytelling can be. Recent studies find that good storytelling skills can actually make people feel happier and more satisfied with life. In one study, researchers asked 800 people to tell stories about themselves. Some were also asked to make up a story using three random (随机的) words. People who were better at storytelling also reported having a clearer sense of meaning in their lives. They thought more about the “why” behind their actions, not just the “how.”
Why is that When we tell stories about our lives, we connect events together and find meaning in them. Good storytellers are good at two things: First, they can put events in order and see how one thing leads to another. Second, they can understand why characters in their stories act in certain ways. When they use these skills in their own lives, they can better understand their purpose and what truly matters to them.
So storytelling is more than just fun. It helps us understand ourselves and connect with others. Many places now offer storytelling workshops (工作坊). These classes may do more than teach communication—they could help people find new direction in life.

A.Becoming more popular at school. B.More happiness and meaning.
C.Better speaking skills. D.Stronger memory.
23.What best describes good storytellers
A.Connecting events and reasons. B.Reading more stories than telling.
C.Enjoying making up random stories. D.Writing down life stories.
24.What can we infer from the last paragraph
A.Storytelling workshops can be life-changing.
B.Learning communication skills is not easy.
C.Storytelling workshops are mostly held in cities.
D.Storytelling workshops are more popular than other classes.
25.Why did the author write this passage
A.To teach readers how to tell better stories. B.To share an ancient story from another culture.
C.To explain the deeper value of storytelling. D.To introduce a new type of workshop.

36.句意:150多年来中国食物已经成为美国餐饮的一部分。become“成为”是动词,由“over 150 years”可知,句子时态为现在完成时,其谓语结构为“has/have + done”,而主语Chinese food为第三人称单数,所以助动词应用has,become的过去分词还是become。

A Special Gift
In China, it’s a tradition for parents to give red packets to kids during the Spring Festival. This year, my parents prepared a special one for me—a digital fiat currency red packet with a lovely cover. They sent it to me easily via their mobile phone, no paper envelope needed at all. The virtual red packet surprised me a lot. I love it because it mixes our traditional custom with modern technology. What a wonderful new fashion it is!
