I only had one big goal last year. It was to raise money for my friend’s daughter’s school life. She lost her mother earlier last year. First I asked my friends and family for help. I got $1,987 from them. But my goal was $2,000. To reach the goal, I joined a half-marathon (半程马拉松). I agreed to run in the banana clothes if my friends helped me reach my goal of $2,000 on the day of the half-marathon.
On that day, I put on my banana clothes and went to the streets of Los Angeles to raise money with the help of my friends. I ran in the banana clothes from Venice Beach to the Third Street Promenade (about 10 kilometres) and back. A great number of people looked at me, maybe thinking I was crazy. Last year in Chicago, I went to a special school for community service. Before I got on the bus, my friend asked me a question, “Why are you going there ” I did not know how to answer the question.
The school was not far from my school, but it looked like it was in a different world. A group of children were waiting for us. A boy suddenly walked towards me. He held my arm and pushed me to the ground. I could not understand what he was doing at first, and then I was very angry. Though I was very angry, I controlled my anger.
