being different was not a shame. He shared how he practiced basketball every day and never gave up. Jayce
listened carefully and became more confident.
They played basketball together and talked happily like old friends. After the meeting, Jayce learned to

听力原材料
Text1:W: I love your orange scarf. It's lovely, and it goes so well with your blue jacket.
M: Thanks. I always think orange and blue look nice together.
Text2:M: How can I be a head boy in the school
W: To begin with, you need to send a letter to the headmaster, putting yourself forward. He'll then interview
everyone and select the three best ones. After that, the students will choose the right person.
Text3:M: I visited the Uyuni salt flats on my recent trip to Bolivia. It was so cool.
W: Yeah, I've seen that on TV. Is it very hot there
M: Not really, but the area hardly gets any rain at all.
Text4:W: I need a new chair, but they're all so expensive. I can't afford them.
M: I saw an advertisement for a cheap chair. Maybe you could have a look. Here, let me find it on my
computer.
Text5:M: My favorite way to relax is to put some nice music on kitchen radio and spend a few hours
preparing a delicious meal for my family.
W: That sounds lovely.
M: It is, so long as someone else cleans up afterwards.
Text6:W: We'll feel so much better once we get rid of all this stuff.
M: Agreed. Let's organize everything into three groups. Rubbish goes into the black bag. Put things to sell in
the blue case. Then the brown box is for donations.
W: Great!
M: You kept so many unnecessary things, like this textbook. I left college when I was 21, and it was 18 years
ago.
W: Well, you can't sell or donate that. It's years out of date.
M: Into the rubbish it goes.
Text7:
W: Here's your coffee, nice and milky, just as you like it. I also bought you something extra.
M: A chocolate cake I didn't ask for this.
W: I know, but I wanted to celebrate your new job. So, how is it going
M: Really well. I'm mostly working from home. I have to catch the train to London or Manchester offices a
couple of days a month, but most of the time I'll be right here in Birmingham.
Text8:
W: Can I use the computer I need to email my professor.
M: Sure, I've completed my homework. Just let me finish reading this article. It's about green turtles.
W: What does it say
M: It says they are in danger because of global warming. Rising sea levels may make them have nowhere to
lay eggs.
W: Really Does it mean we may not see them someday
M: Probably. I first knew that from the TV show Planet Earth. Now I want to give a speech in science class to
call on environmental protection.
Text9:
M: Does the invention of AI software worry you
W: Not really. I've seen ChatGPT’s writings. They make sense but are basic and unoriginal. Even worse, the
information is often incorrect.
M: Really
W: Yeah. It’s dangerous to depend only on AI for research. Many scientific studies are paid, so AI can’t get
important information. But I enjoy using AI art programs to create pictures for my stories. I’m good at writing
but can’t draw at all. AI helps me see my characters clearly.
Text10:
This is a passenger announcement. We're sorry to tell you that all today's flights to New York Kennedy
Airport and Boston Logan Airport are canceled due to Hurricane Tara affecting the US east coast. We
apologize for the inconvenience. Affected passengers should contact the customer help desk for an overnight
