As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped and was confused by the fact that these huge animals were being held by only a small rope tied (绑) to their front legs. It was easy to see that the elephants could break away from the ropes at any time. But for some reason, they did not.
3. He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no try to get away. “Well,” the trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller, we use the same size rope to tie them. At that age, it’s stronger enough to hold them. 4. As they grow up, the adult (成年的) elephants believe that they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free. ”
The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free, but because they believed they couldn’t, they were right there where they were.

It took us about half an hour to get there. When we got to the zoo, we saw many people in it. While the tigers were eating meat, the monkeys were climbing trees. Where were the lions Oh, they were sleeping under the trees.
