Hurricanes (飓风) are very powerful storms that can cause terrible harm. Some hurricanes produce winds stronger than 155 mph that are able to destroy homes and buildings.Knowing how and where hurricanes form can help keep you safe if a hurricane does come.
The hurricane forms over warm water after the ocean has been heated up during the hot summer months.Because it needs warm water, it happens most often during late summer and early fall.In the Atlantic Ocean, the hurricane season is from June to November.
Also, since hurricanes need warm ocean water to form, people that are influenced by hurricanes live in areas near the coast.People who don't live near the coast needn't worry too much about safety during a hurricane. However, even though hurricanes happen near coastlines, strong winds can still go farther inland with lots of rain.
Hurricanes can be very dangerous. When a hurricane moves toward land, it can cause harm in a number of ways.If you live somewhere where hurricanes might happen, it is important for you to know what to do to protect yourself.First, have a plan to leave the area, and listen to local weather stations for any weather notices. If you don't have time to leave, then find a safe place to stay.Make sure your shelter is on higher ground, that the windows are closed, and that you stay inside until the hurricane passes.

One Possible Version:
Dear David,
Long time no see! Recently I have read an article about natural disasters. And I want to share my thoughts with you.
The disaster I fear most is earthquakes. They happen suddenly without warning, and buildings may collapse within seconds. Last year, I watched a documentary about the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, and it shocked me deeply. People lost their homes, families, and even lives in just a few minutes. Unlike floods or storms, earthquakes give almost no time to escape, which makes them especially terrifying.
What about you Which natural disaster scares you the most Looking forward to your reply!
Yours,
Li Hui
