There is an old Chinese saying, “If someone gives you a little drop of water, you should return spring of water.” That means if someone helps you a bit, you should thank him a lot.
We thank our parents. They work hard all the time in order to give us a better life. They give us food and clothes, and they teach us what is right and what is wrong. We are looked after well by them.
We thank our teachers who give us dreams, but they ask for nothing from us. We are well-educated by them.
Meanwhile (同时), we even thank people who hurt us,because they teach us important things. We thank people who give us up, because we learn how to be independent. We thank people who are selfish (自私的), because we learn the importance of being kind.
There are a lot of people that we should thank in our life. We should express our thanks with actions not just words. Then what action will you take to them

In fact, I feel sad and sorry after every fight.

One afternoon, Leo was playing in his grandfather’s study when he accidentally knocked an old watch off the desk. It fell behind a heavy bookcase. Leo tried to reach it, but the space was too narrow for his hand.
Worried, he told his grandfather. Instead of moving the bookcase, Grandpa handed Leo a thin, long ruler and a small magnet (磁铁). “Try to think creatively,” he said with a smile.
Leo first tried to get the watch with the ruler, but it kept slipping (滑). Then, he tied the magnet to the ruler with a line. Carefully, he put the magnet end behind the bookcase. After a few tries, he heard a “click”—the magnet had stuck to a part of the watch! Slowly, he pulled the ruler back, and the watch came out!
Grandpa nodded and said, “You see, when you can’t reach something directly, you don’t just give up. You use what you have to find a new way. This is true not only for lost watches but for many problems in life.”

Dear friends, today I finished my work as a school gatekeeper. Thirty years have passed quickly, and they are the most precious (珍贵的) years of my life. Every day I stood at the school gate, greeting the students and keeping them safe, which I will never forget.
I can still remember my first day on this job. I was a little nervous, not knowing how to get along with the kids. A little girl walked up to me, handed me a small drawing, and said, “Uncle, you look kind.” That sweet gift and warm words gave me courage to do my job well.
Over the years, I have seen many touching moments. Every morning, the students would wave and say “Good morning” to me. When it rained, I lent my umbrella to those who forgot theirs. On my birthday, some students brought me small cards with their best wishes. Gradually, I felt that my job was meaningful and important. I watched the students grow from little kids to young adults.
Being a school gatekeeper is not a difficult job, but it is full of responsibility. I protected the students’ safety every school day. I found happiness and honor in this ordinary (平凡的) job.

AI is changing our world quickly. It can answer questions, translate languages, write stories, and even help us work. It makes many things easier and saves us a lot of time.
But AI has limits. It cannot help us exercise or build hobbies. Exercise needs our own effort—running, swimming, or lifting weights. No AI can push us to move our bodies, stay active, or keep healthy. We have to do it ourselves.
Hobbies are also personal. Painting, playing an instrument, gardening, or reading—these need our heart and hands. AI can give ideas, but it can’t hold a brush, play music, or plant a seed for us. It can’t feel the joy when we finish a painting or play a song well.
AI is a great helper, but it can’t replace our own actions. We must move our bodies and pursue hobbies to grow happy and healthy.
22.What can AI help us do (不超过15词)
23.Why can’t AI help us exercise (不超过10词)

Mutianyu Great Wall is one of the most popular parts of the Great Wall. It lies to the north of Beijing City. Tourists can visit it all year round, but the best time is April, May, September, and October.
Last week, I visited Mutianyu Great Wall with my parents. At first, I just thought it was not as busy as Badaling Great Wall. I didn’t think it would be much fun. But in fact, I really enjoyed myself there!
The first interesting part was taking a chairlift (吊椅) up to the wall. Of course, you can also take the cable car (缆车). It makes it easier for children and old people to climb the wall. The next interesting part was walking along the wall. When you’re on the wall, you’ll be surprised at the beautiful sights. But the most interesting part of the trip was the ride. You can take a slide (滑梯) down from the wall. It takes about two or three minutes to slide all the way down. That’s why more and more people like to visit Mutianyu Great Wall.
The secret of an enjoyable visit is to visit the wall early. Most people visit the wall on a day trip by coach (长途汽车) from the city of Beijing. Cuju, the ancient Chinese football, is the oldest football game in the world. According to historical records, it appeared in the Shang Dynasty and the equipment was a stone ball which was encouraged by the army to build up a strong body among the soldiers. In the Han Dynasty, it became even more popular and was written into military(军事的) science. There were no less than 25 kinds of the game.
It is said that the first emperor of the Han Dynasty Liu Bang was proud of his father who was quite good at playing the ancient football—Cuju. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the earliest football club or guild was set up and named “Yuanshe”. At that time, many writings and art works were created on the theme of Cuju, which showed its success. It was popular among all kinds of people and was played by people of all ages.
However, it slowly fell into decline, maybe because of the traditional idea of peace and kindness. Some people spend too much time on the Internet every day. They feel bad after watching short videos for a long time. They become forgetful and find it hard to put their hearts into what they are doing.
If you are one of these people, perhaps you’ve got something called “brain rot (脑腐)”. It’s the Oxford Word of the Year for 2025. According to Oxford, it’s a feeling that your brain is “rotting” because you’ve spent too much time on the Internet. Perhaps you feel you’ve lost an hour of your life watching short videos of people dancing or cats playing in the kitchen! Of course, nothing in your head is rotting, but it may almost feel like that.
The term “brain rot” isn’t new. It was first used in the 1850s in a book called Walden by Henry David Thoreau. He thought people liked some simple ideas and didn’t want to think about difficult things. Today, the term is once again popular. Many people are using it to show they’re worrying about the bad things the Internet can bring.
While it can be fun to watch short videos sometimes, too much screen time can take you away from important things. And it’s even bad for your health. So, to avoid “brain rot”, you should remember to take breaks from the Internet and enjoy the real world.

43.What are many people using the term “brain rot” to show today (不超过10个词)
