语篇研读 What: 本单元围绕着“人与社会”范畴展开,单元大问题是:“What do you like about your school”大问题中隐含着学生应该热爱自己的学校,只是不同学生的热爱点不一样。A部分的引导性问题是“What is your school like ”每个人的学校都不尽相同,校园设施和布局是学校给学生带来的第一印象,1a-1d主要围绕着校园的不同建筑物和建筑物所在的方位展开。B部分引导性问题是“What fun thing do you do at school ”从浅层谈论有什么,在哪里的问题延展至做什么和为什么的问题,设计思路层层递进,指向学生的深度思维能力。 Why: 教材在话题设置上具有衔接性和递进性,第二单元以“My family”为话题,升华出“Family is where life begins and love never ends.”的单元主题意义,从第二单元“我的家庭”自然过渡到第三单元“我的学校”,培养学生热爱学校和学校生活的情感。学校作为学生校园生活的主阵地,是学生不断成熟和社会化的场所,从这里延伸出“A school is where life continues and love never stops”的主题意义。 How: 1a-1d聚焦听说的训练,通过创设真实的情境,探讨What are there in the school 引出学校建筑物的名称,There is a... in this school. 通过有什么,再到建筑物在哪里,使得方位介词的引入顺理成章。在听力任务中,同样关注学校建筑物和建筑物的位置。产出环节,利用课堂所学,让学生通过创设的情境进行课堂微项目的完成,使得学习与运用形成闭环。
教学目标
(1)语言能力上: 能够运用there be句型谈论校园的建筑物,也能够正确运用方位介词谈论建筑物的位置。 (2)思维品质上:能够引导学生进行深度思考,探索学校对于学生个体的非凡意义。 (3)文化意识上:能够认同学校在学生生活中的重要地位,培养学生“爱校如爱家”的深刻情感,也能感知英语中与人礼貌交流的意识。 (4)学习能力上:能够利用听力策略获取信息和速记信息。
教学重难点
教学重点:有关学校环境、场所位置以及所做活动和感受等信息的词汇和句型;邮件的内容结构和基本格式; 教学难点:基于结构化知识,完整、准确复述文本内容;从更多维度介绍自己对校园的了解和喜爱,并形成书面表达。

Step1.Warm up&Lead-in 1.Greetings The teacher makes greetings with the students. T:Good morning!Boys and girls. Ss: Good morning! Teacher. 2.Revision and lead in Revision: Show a picture of school and have a free talk.. T: What buildings can you see Ss:A dining hall/ The art building/ A sports field/ The classroom building... T: What can we do in ... Lead in: The teacher invites a new friend and introduces his school. Play a video about Tsinghua University. T: Boys and girls! Today we have a new friend.Look! Who is he Ss: He is ... T: Great! He is a student from Tsinghua University .Now, Let’s follow him to visit his school. OK Ss: OK! 师评。观察学生能否跟随奥运冠军盛李豪的脚步“走进”清华大学,在情境中感知生词词义,准确理解其中语句,根据地图正确填词。
【设计意图】 联系热点人物——奥运冠军盛李豪所在大学,创设真实语言学习情境,利用多媒体资源,导入本课介绍学校的话题,激发学生的学习兴趣,激活学生与本课时教学内容之间的知识经验的关联。
Step2. Pre-reading 1.List their favourite places in the school. Then share with their partners. S1: What's your favorite place at school Why S2: My favorite place is the sports field because it's very large and I can play sports there. S1: Where is it S2: It’s ... Try to come up with some verb phrases about activities they can do at the places in the school. 2.Prediction. Observe the three pictures and try to make predictions. S1: The sports field, the classroom building and the dining hall. S2: I usually exercise, study,eat ...at these place. S3: Large, big, clean, beautiful... Step3. While-reading Fast reading. Skim the passage and answer the questions. S1: Email. S2: Peter writes it to Flora. S3: It’s about a school. S4: It’s Peter’s new school. Choose the question Flora probably asked in her last email. Se: What's your new school like Match the main idea of each part. One minute later, report their answers and try to talk about their reasons in class. 2.Careful reading. Read the passage carefully and finish the table. Check their answers by making conversations in pairs. Read again and write down the things or places the words describe in 1c. Discuss the questions in 1d with their group members and then report their results in class. S1: It’s fair to every student./ ... Let Ss work in pairs and talk about their favorite places in the school. Provide the sample conversation and useful expressions to help them. T: What fun things do you do at these places (Read or borrow books, play ball games, have classes, ...) Let students look at the pictures in 1b and ask questions. T: What can you see in the three pictures T: What do you usually do at these places T: What do you think of them T: Whose school is it Let students read the passage quickly and ask questions. T: What kind of text is it T: Who writes the e-mail T: What is the e-mail about T: Whose school is it in the picture Check the answers and explain the skimming strategy. Guide students to skim for the structure and offer some main ideas for students to match with the parts. O Offer a chart to guide students to find out the specific information about Peter’s new school. Present some questions to help students check the answers. T: Which might be the map of Peter’s school Help students to find out the things or places near the adjectives. Let students work in groups and have a discussion. 【设计意图】 通过预测任务引发学生思考,培养学生利用情境线索进行推断和预测的能力;帮助学生整体感知文章的内容,并培养学生准确获取、梳理和记录关键信息的能力,帮助学生把握语篇的意义主线,有逻辑地梳理文章的信息,体会语言、文化和思维的关联,引导学生在阅读文章中,梳理、学习和内化关键句型与重点语言,为进一步在现实生活中运用所学做好铺垫。
Step 3. Post-reading 1.Finish the mind map, then retell the passage. S1: He thinks it’s great, beautiful and modern. S2: He can exercise well, study well and eat well at school. Try to talk about their schools. S3: There are also modern buildings and a large sports field in my school. 2.Group work Students work in groups to introduce their school. One S draws a picture of the school. Two students find their favourite places and give the reasons. One student gives a report in class. Show a mind map to help students have a conclusion and retell what they’ve learned. Ask some questions to guide students to think further. T: What does Peter think of his school T: How great is his school T: Is Peter’s school similar to yours How is Peter’s school similar to yours Create an activity situation called “Speak for the Most Beautiful School” and let Ss work with their group members to give a report then. Provide the word bank and evaluation standards. 观察学生能否根据老师所提供的思维导图框架、问题和评价量规,有效复述文章内容,按照语言、内容、表达三个方面去规范自己的复述呈现,并对文本内容进行提炼简化。
【设计意图】 引导学生内化结构化新知和关键语言,学习和分析与学校主题相关的有效语言表达,并根据语篇表层结构的主线探究和深入理解如何介绍学校的信息,启发学生深度思考,探究深层意义,为进一步提炼和概括信息做好铺垫。将学习到的语言内化,应用实践在文章复述中。
Step5:Summary The teacher summarizes the content of this class and assign the homework. Step6:Homework Must do: 1. Draw a map of your school and write descriptions for at least 4places in your school. 2. Write an email to your best friend to describe your school. Choose to do: Search for more information about your school and write an introduction about it.
【设计意图】引导学生进行课堂内容小结,并通过视频和一天的时间线设计,引导其懂得除了家以外,我们在学校待的时间是最多的,学校就是我们的第二个家,我们要爱护我们的学校就像爱护家一样。
