① Every morning, a special green train starts its journey through the mountains of Southwest China. It moves slowly and stops at every small station. People call it the “slow train”. For over twenty years, it has been a cheap and convenient way for villagers to travel between villages and cities. Now it still finds new ways to change people’s lives.
② For villagers, the train turns into a moving market. They get on the train with colorful baskets of farm products. Bright red peppers, green vegetables, golden corn, and juicy fruits fill the air with fresh smells. Passengers (乘客) talk and buy things right on the train. It is a warm and busy ride all the way to town.
