It was the last match for my eight year old son Henry s soccer team. The score was two to one, and my son s team was in the lead(领先). Many parents stood around the field, cheering for the players.
With less than ten seconds left, the ball came in front of my son s teammate, Mike. With shouts of “Kick it!”, Mike ran back and kicked the ball as hard as he could. All the people around me cheered. Mike scored!
Then there was silence. Mike scored all right, but in the wrong goal, ending the game in a tie. Mike has Down syndrome, a genetic condition(遗 传性疾病). To him, every goal is a good goal. He always celebrated the goal by giving happy hugs—even to the players on the other team when they scored!
The silence was finally broken when Mike held my son, hugged him and cried, “I scored! I scored! Everybody wins! Everybody wins!” For a moment, I held my breath, not sure what Henry would do. I watched with tears in my eyes as my son raised his hand for a high five and cheered, “Great job, Mike! Great job!” Soon, all the players from both teams gathered around Mike, celebrating his goal.

Last summer, I had a wonderful experience that brought me true happiness. It was a bright Sunday morning, and my family decided to go for a picnic in Green Park. I felt very excited because it was my first visit to that park, and I had heard about its beautiful flowers and lake.
When we arrived, the sun was shining, and the park was full of families enjoying the day. We found a spot under a tall tree and laid out our blanket. As we started eating our sandwiches, something unexpected happened. A group of children were playing soccer nearby, and their ball rolled right towards us. I smiled and picked it up to return it. To my surprise, they invited me to join their game.
I agreed happily. Playing soccer with them was so exciting! I ran around, laughing and kicking the ball, forgetting all my worries. For half an hour, I experienced pure joy. After the game, we sat together and shared some fruit. That simple moment made me realise how happiness can come from small things.
Later, as we packed up, I thought about that day. It wasn t a grand event, but it taught me to appreciate life s little pleasures. That picnic became a cherished memory, reminding me to always find reasons to smile. Happiness, I learnt, is often hidden in ordinary moments.

After a long day s hard work, you may feel a little tired. A drink of cool water can make you feel better. As we all know, drinking water is great for our health. We don t feel thirsty after drinking enough water. It can also help with some health problems like headaches. Last month, a survey of 2,000 people found something new about drinking water—it has some interesting connections(关联) with happiness.
In the survey, the scientists learnt about how much water these people drink each day. Then they put them into different groups and studied how these people felt after drinking water.
The survey reported that people drinking more water felt much happier, but those drinking less water didn t feel the same. When asked about their feelings about life, people drinking enough water a day thought themselves to be more positive, different from people having little water. So it s clear that drinking water can bring us happiness.
Then, what stops people from drinking enough water? One reason is that some people think plain water is very boring to drink. To make water taste better, they can put some fruit in it. Eating enough fruit and vegetables also helps because people can get water from most of them. Another reason may be that people forget to drink water when they are very busy. So it s a good idea to carry a water bottle everywhere and set an alarm to tell them to drink water.
Of course, drinking water is not the only way to find happiness in daily life. However, it can be a very easy way to make yourself happy. Drink around six to eight glasses of water a day, make it a habit and enjoy a healthy body as well as a good feeling.
