③意为“约定具体时间”。如:Let’s make it seven o’clock. 我们定在七点吧。
④意为“渡过难关”。如:He made it through the surgery. 他挺过了那 个手术。
2. Either choice seemed fine for someone at his age. But Zhang chose neither of them. 对于他这个年纪的人来说,这两种选择似乎都不错。但 张顺一个也没选。
(1)either在本句中作形容词,修饰单数名词choice,意为“两者中 任意一个的”。如:You can take either seat. 两个座位随便你坐哪个。
either的其他用法如下:

neither的其他用法如下:
①作形容词,修饰单数名词,意为“两者都不”。如:Neither answer is correct. 两个答案都不对。

注意:either... or...和neither... nor 连接并列主语时,谓语动词的数 与最近的主语一致,即遵循“就近原则”。如:Either she or I wasn’t invited. 要么她没被邀请,要么我没被邀请。Neither the teacher nor the students are ready. 老师和学生都没准备好。
(3)seemed是seem的过去式。seem意为“似乎;看起来”,其核心 用法如下:

(1)none在本句中作代词,可单独使用或与“of + 复数可数名词/不 可数名词”连用,强调“三者及以上全部否定”。如:None of the students passed the exam. 这群学生中没人通过考试。There is none left. 一点也没 剩下。
注意:①接复数可数名词时,谓语动词可用单数(强调整体)或 复数(强调个体)。如:None of the books is/are interesting. 没一本书有 趣。②接不可数名词时,谓语动词必须用单数。如:None of the water is clean. 这些水全都不干净。
(2)tried是try的过去式,在本句中作动词,意为“设法;努力”。 try to do sth意为“设法/努力做某事”,强调克服困难、为实现目标付出努 力的过程,结果可能成功或失败。如:She tries to learn French every day. 她每天努力学习法语。
try的其他用法如下:
①作动词,意为“尝试”。try sth意为“尝试某事物”。如:Try this new recipe! 试试这个新菜谱! try doing sth意为“尝试做某事”,强调试验或 体验,不涉及“努力”或“目标”。如:Try drinking warm water for headaches. 头痛时试试喝点温水。

③固定搭配:
1)try on意为“试穿,试用”。如:Can I try on these shoes? 我能试 穿这双鞋吗?
2)try for意为“争取机会”。如:She’s trying for a promotion. 她在争取升职。
3)try one’s best意为“尽某人最大努力”,后常接to do sth。如: I’ll try my best to help you. 我会尽力帮你。
4. If possible, I will keep running. 如果可能的话,我会继续跑步。

2)“主语 + will/情态动词 + 动词原形 + 其他 + if + 主语 + 谓语 + 其 他.” 如:She will forgive you if you apologise. 如果你道歉,她会原谅你。 You might miss the bus if you don’t hurry. 如果你不快点,你可能会错过 公共汽车。
②用法:描述未来可能发生的具体情况及其潜在结果,强调条件的 可实现性和结果的合理预测性。如:If you leave now, you will catch the train. 如果你现在出发,你就能赶上火车。You’ll lose weight if you eat less sugar. 如果你少吃糖,就会瘦下来。
5. But she paid no attention to the pain and continued to play. 但她不 顾疼痛,继续比赛。
(1)paid 是pay的过去式。pay attention to意为“注意”,其中,to为 介词,后跟名词、代词或动名词。如:Please pay attention to road signs while driving. 开车时请注意路标。She always pays attention to them carefully. 她总是仔细注意他们。Pay attention to listening to the teacher. 注意听老师讲。

④ “continue” vs “keep”:continue强调动作本身的不间断延续,keep 侧重通过反复动作维持某种状态。
