作文:
In my opinion, family tradition plays an important role in shaping our character. Among all
the valuable qualities my parents have taught me, honesty and trustworthiness stand out the most.
My parents always set a good example for me. I still remember one day my father found a
wallet on his way home. Without hesitation, he returned it to the owner according to the ID card
inside. When the owner wanted to give him a reward, my father politely refused and said, “Being
honest is the right thing to do.”
This experience deeply influenced me. Since then, I have tried to be honest in my daily life.
Whether it is returning a lost item or keeping a promise, I always remind myself that honesty
builds trust and respect. I believe that honesty is not just a treasure but also an excellent quality
that guides us to become better people. I am truly grateful to my parents for passing on this
valuable family tradition to me. I will become an honest person in the future.安庆四中 2026届“二模”英语试卷

Brains help animals think and solve problems, but growing a big brain takes a lot of energy and time.
Not all animals can develop large brains through natural selection(选择). Scientists studied 1,176 kinds of
birds and found that parental care has the biggest influence on brain size.
Birds like chickens and ducks can move around soon after breaking out of eggs. But others, like
parrots and songbirds, are born blind, weak and helpless, They have no choice but to completely depend
on their parents for survival. These birds can get long-term care and food, which can promote brain
development because more energy goes into brain growth.
This bigger brain helps birds learn faster and act smarter. For example, crows can use sticks to get
food. ▲ These abilities are connected to their bigger brains. Parental care not only gives young birds
the food they need but also keeps them safe while they grow and learn.
Parental care isn’t just important for birds, The study finds that when parents take care of their babies,
it helps their brains grow better—not just in humans, but also in many other animals. Just like birds,
human babies need years of care and food to grow large brains. Without enough care, their brains may not
develop well. This research helps us understand why parental care is so important in natural selection—it
allows animals to grow smarter brains and better adapt to (应对) challenges.
To learn more, scientists now plan to study how human brains developed with similar care over time.
62. What’s the key to birds’ brain growth
A. Groups living. B. Food support. C. Parental caring. D. Natural selection.

The 2026 Beijing E-Town Half Marathon for people and human-like robots took place on April 19. It
started in 2025, and this was the second race. As the world’s first famous half marathon for human-like robots,
it has become an important global place to test and improve robot technologies.
In the competition, Lightning from Honor’s team won first prize. It finished the race in 50 minutes and 26
seconds. Its speed was much faster than the 2025 winner’s time (about 2 hours and 41 minutes). It also set a
new world record for robot half marathons. It showed great progress in robots’ speed, balance and battery life.
There are two kinds of robots: full-automatic ones and remote-controlled ones. To encourage better
self-control technology, the time of remote-controlled robots will be multiplied by 1.2. This year, almost 40%
of teams used full-automatic robots, much more than last year.
This activity is not just a sports race. It helps robot research, production and use. It also tests new robot
intelligence. It shows China’s fast progress in making human-like robots and helps the world’s high-tech
industry develop.

①Did you know that architecture (建筑) can shape us It greatly influences our character, mood and
health.
②Mixing nature with buildings benefits our minds and body. A German study shows people growing up
in the countryside have fewer mental health problems than city people. Vancouver, a city in Canada is
surrounded (环绕) by mountains and seas. Its buildings are well planned so tall buildings won’t block
natural views.
③Buildings without special styles also influence our feelings. In New York, people felt upset and walked
fast when passing a boring supermarket with simple glass walls. However, they felt much better near warm
and lively shops and restaurants.
④To make buildings better, designers should think about ceiling (天花板) height. Low ceilings help
people focus, while high ceilings improve creativity. As a result, too many flat and straight designs should be
avoided, because they stop light and shadow from making nice patterns and don’t match nature well. Besides,
proper colors matter. Warm colors like yellow cheer people up, while blue and green help people relax.
⑤In short, architecture is very important. We need buildings connected with nature, with good shapes
and comfortable colors to make us feel pleasant.
69. Which is TRUE about people growing up in the countryside?______
A. They have a lower risk of mental illnesses.

Long ago in the Spring and Autumn Period, Duke Huan of Qi, along with his prime minister Guan Zhong
